So as we here at the Retro Gaming Store Plus approach Black Friday we wanted to share our in store deals and there are lots to be had both this Friday and this Saturday

As usual no holding of stock till those days. This is in store on those days only

On Friday morning we will also drop a code for our website sales which will be 10% off any order on those 2 days also

Great time to get your Christmas presents and there be be a small surprise for our 1st customer in store who makes a purchase on Friday morning

The shop is not closing down as it is predominantly a video game store now and the sale is to clear the remaining shelves for new stock

Great to see the Red Kettle return tomorrow.

Hi guys after being closed for over 4 months we have done all the jobs at home and it is time to get back to work
We will be open for take away from tomorrow from10.00 to 4.00.
We hope to have a full menu available and even a few new additions all available for take away.

Red Books is an independent bookstore located in St Peter's Square, opposite the bandstand. Selling new, previously-read, antiquarian and collectible books, the bookshop is known for its LiveLit events and Writers Groups in non-Covid times.

Red Books also houses a small publishing house (Red Books Press) and runs a weekly show at 8pm on Thursday nights on Facebook and Instagram (The Irish Bookshop Show).

Red Books is still closed under public health restrictions but continues to trade online at www.theirishbookshop.com and www.facebook.com/redbooksire. They offer free delivery in Wexford town and standard postage everywhere else (including bulk postage to cut down on price.) They also offer "Book Lucky Bags" which have been proving popular during lockdowns.

The Little Geek Shack is located in St Peter's Square (opposite the bandstand) and sells vintage clothing, vinyl records, collectables, badges, patches and stickers.

Sharon began the Little Geek Shack four years ago in the Bullring market as a stall, before moving onto the main street and then into a much larger store in her current location.

Wexford town's Main Street and its interlinking streets have existed as a marketplace for hundreds of years. We are the first generation which could witness the full decline of this marketplace due to the effects of lengthy lockdowns and massive multinational online retailers.

Please remember that behind every lockedup store is at least one family still trying to trade and bring a certain brand of vibrancy and diversity to our streets. Many of them are trading online, soon they'll be offering click&collect, and hopefully they will return soon after to full opening hours.

Amazon and Aliexpress will never open shops on Wexford towns main street. They'll never sponsor your local school fair or provide a roof for local events. They'll never pay rent, rates or tax in this town. Its imperative that we keep Wexford towns (and all our towns) marketplaces alive.

The Retro Gaming Store is located at 47 South Main Street and was established by Anthony Dobbs in 2017. Featuring a huge collection of classic gaming consoles and games, as well as newer gaming systems, Anthony says his main aim was to let customers take a walk down memory lane.

“We are different than any other store. There are no wholesalers no constant supply, no guarantee of new stock every week. That is why we love what we do. We have to work for everything we get, every item of stock is sourced the old-fashioned way, local & UK boot sales, markets, private collectors, house clearances, people simply who come in to store or contact us asking if we are interested in what they have. We also have a policy of testing every single item that comes through our doors, be it a console, game or an accessory. Each item is cleaned and ready for the shelves. We pride ourselves on this policy and yes it maybe time consuming but we love doing it and we love it even more when our customers come back to us saying worked perfect, great condition and that is why we are in business.” – from the website.
