Westgate Design is marking 30 years on Wexford’s Main Street, and that says so much about the place the Jordan family have built. Behind that small shopfront is far more than people might expect. Fashion, gifts, Irish and international design, coffee, lunch, a busy restaurant, a deli, and a place that has become a gathering place for locals and visitors alike....Catherine, Leonard, Darren and Keith have kept building on what started as Catherine’s knitwear business, growing it into one of the most familiar names in Wexford Town......businesses like this matter on a Main Street. People don’t always come into town for one thing. They might call in for coffee, meet someone for lunch, browse upstairs, pick up something for home, or just sit for a while in a place where they know the faces and know they’ll be looked after.
Westgate understand that people need a reason to come into town, and a reason to stay around a bit longer. The food has become a huge part of the story too. Fresh lunches, homemade dishes, great coffee, scones, deli favourites and take-home treats, all sitting alongside the shop and giftware side of the business. You can hear it in the way customers talk about it. They meet friends here, bring family here, browse, eat, relax, and come back again the following week.
Thirty years in business. Still family-run. Still moving forward. Still a big part of Wexford’s Main Street.
