🌟 STAFF SATURDAY SHOWCASE 🌟💕✨
A little late today… but definitely worth the wait!

One of our favourite things here at Crafty is seeing our team bring beautiful projects to life! 🧶💖 It means we can share genuine experience, helpful tips and honest advice when it comes to choosing yarns, patterns and those all-important finishing touches.

This week, Diane is taking centre stage with her absolutely gorgeous crochet hexagon cardigan! 😍🧶✨

💖 THE PATTERN 💖

Diane crocheted this beauty using King Cole DK Pattern 6481, which she absolutely loved making. She thinks it’s a fantastic pattern for anyone looking to take that next step beyond beginner-level crochet. 🥰

But what exactly is a hexagon cardigan? 🤔

A hexagon crochet cardigan is a stylish and wonderfully clever design made from two large hexagonal granny-square-style motifs. These are folded and joined together to create the body and sleeves of the cardigan.

The clever construction makes it a relatively quick and enjoyable project, while giving you loads of opportunities to play with colour combinations and yarn choices to create something completely your own. 🌈✨

💖 THE YARN 💖

Diane used yarn from her stash! 😁🙌
Rico Creative Chic-Unique DK was her yarn of choice, and she absolutely loved working with it alongside the pattern.
However, if she were to make another one… 👀 (and we definitely think it’s on the cards!) she would be tempted to use something like Riot DK.
Why? The longer colour changes would make each colour more defined, creating a slightly different effect throughout the cardigan. 🌈

Of course, it still look absolutely fabulous as it is — but we completely understand the thinking behind those longer colour changes…
The less yarn ends there are to sew in, the better! 🤣🧶✂️

And honestly, Diane… we think you’ve absolutely smashed this one! 💕👏

✨ Just look at this beauty! ✨

She’s been sitting in our window for the last week or so, and after receiving so many enquiries, we thought it was time to share her with everyone! 🧶💕

This gorgeous crochet jacket was made by Diane last year, and the colours have been admired by so many of you. Diane used King Cole Riot DK, and we can certainly see why it caught everyone’s eye! 🌈

This particular jacket isn’t for sale (we had so many enquiries over the weekend!), but the good news is that we have both the pattern and yarn in stock if you fancy making one of your own. 🥰

You’ll notice that Diane chose to leave off the pockets on the front — and we completely agree with her choice! The back is the statement, and it really doesn’t need anything else! 😍

🧶 The yarn used:
King Cole Riot DK is a gorgeous hand-dyed effect yarn, with beautiful variegated colour changes. This roving-style yarn is a blend of acrylic and wool and is perfect for this jacket!

The crochet jacket pattern offers plenty of versatility, with both longline and cropped options, so you can create a style that suits you perfectly. The pattern recommends Stylecraft Colour Burst DK, but we think this King Cole Riot version looks absolutely fabulous! 💜
