BD Enniscorthy marked its 30th anniversary by welcoming colleagues past and present, friends and family, along with Minister James Browne, TD Malcolm Byrne Enniscorthy Cathaoirleach Pat Kehoe and representatives from IDA Ireland, BD Global, Wexford County Council and County Wexford Chamber to the site. Attendees had a chance to look back at just how much has changed since the doors first opened in 1996. What was evident today was the strength of the people behind the facility. Many have built long careers there and progressed through different roles, contributing to the growth of the business.

There is also a broader significance to having a company of this scale operating successfully in County Wexford. It demonstrates that Wexford can really support international business, skilled employment and long-term investment, while giving people the opportunity to develop excellent careers locally.

Congratulations to everyone at BD Enniscorthy, past and present, on reaching 30 years.

Tomorrow, BD Enniscorthy marks 30 years since the site first opened in 1996. The name over the door has changed more than once in that time. What began as a subsidiary of AngioDynamics later became ClearStream Technologies, then CR Bard and eventually BD in 2017. The work has changed too, as the site developed, expanded and became part of one of the world’s largest medical technology companies.

But locally, the story is really about the people who have come through those doors over the last three decades. For many, it was their first job. For others, it became a career that lasted 20 or 30 years. People have trained and progressed here....made lifelong friendships and built lives around having good employment close to home in town. A global employer like BD does not sit separately from the town that it is within.....their impact runs through families, local suppliers, charities, community groups and generations of people who have been able to build careers without having to leave Enniscorthy to find opportunity elsewhere.

Thirty years later, BD Enniscorthy remains an important part of the town and of the wider Wexford economy. Congratulations to everyone who has been part of those 30 years....and especially to the people who have helped build the site into what it is today.

There are very few people who don’t know Beechdale Garden Centre. Just outside Clonroche, it’s shopping destination people have been calling into for years. Some go for the plants, some go for the roses, some go for the café, however the majority go because they know they’ll get proper advice from people who actually know what they’re talking about. Keith and Janet Rothwell started Beechdale back in 1990, after originally growing mushrooms on the family farm. More than three decades later, it has grown into one of the best-known garden centres in the county, with Andrew now part of the family business too. Some of the staff members are there over 20 years, the guys have customers travelling from Dublin and people have been coming back every year since the very beginning to replenish their garden and this local business has earned its reputation because of the immaculate customer experience they offer....

Fair play to Keith, Janet, Andrew and all the Beechdale team, a great local success story.

We got a little peek inside the newly renovated Captain Wafer Hall ahead of its official re-opening....and it’s brilliant to see this building brought back to life. Sitting just below Vinegar Hill, the hall has been part of Enniscorthy for over 70 years. Built by locals as a community hub, it once hosted meetings, social events, clubs and groups before falling quiet in recent years.

Now, after over 18 months of hard work by Enniscorthy Community Alliance, the space has had a full refurbishment. New windows, new doors, upgraded rooms, a refreshed kitchen and two bright community spaces are now ready for local groups, meetings, classes, repair shops, pop-ups, yoga and plenty more.

A huge credit to everyone involved in getting Captain Wafer Hall back open for the community. A new lease of life....and hopefully a very busy future ahead for this new community hub

Starting a new business is never easy.....starting one in a new town takes even more courage....After building a loyal client base over the last decade, Agnes and her team are now in place at Rejuvenate in the Riverside Park Hotel, with a focus on advanced skin treatments, laser hair removal and personalised wellbeing services. Agnes has a vision of creating a space where people can take time for themselves, build confidence and focus on their wellbeing. This is another positive addition for Enniscorthy and another business owner investing into its future.

If you've visited Agnes in Wexford town over the years you will be familiar with the level of service and care.....Well done, Agnes and team and the very best as they open their doors this Thursday (june 4th) with a Wellness Launch Event.....We have a feeling you'll receive a very warm Enniscorthy welcome.

Before Byrnes became a name people knew across the county, it began here on Court Street in 1976 when Jim and Frances Byrne opened the original Byrnes store. At the time, Enniscorthy had never had a bookshop. Frances saw the opportunity, the family backed it, and what started with books grew over the years into toys, cards, stationery, school books, office supplies and a business now known right across the county.... Damian is making sure the business reconnects with the name that has been above the story from the very beginning.

Tomorrow, Saturday, Byrnes will celebrate the relaunch with a family fun day in-store, with face painting, balloons, competitions, prizes and plenty happening throughout the day. Nearly fifty years on from Jim and Frances opening the doors for the first time, the business is still growing and still investing in the town where it all began.

Double celebration for Niamh Hogan and all the team at Holos Skincare.....Tonight they were named County Wexford Business of the Year in the 2–20 Employees category and also picked up the award for County Wexford Digital Commerce Excellence. A brilliant win for a brilliant local business and it was great to see Enniscorthy represented so strongly on the night.

Well done Niamh and all at Holos Skincare. 👏
