Շնորհաւոր Անկախութեան տօն մեր յաւերժական Հայաստանին։ 🇦🇲

This plate depicting the Armenian Coat of Arms was made in the 1930s by the joint Balian-Karakashian workshop, established by Neshan Balian Sr. and Mgrditch Karakashian, founders of the Armenian Ceramics of Jerusalem, together with David Ohanessian in 1919.

The central motif is Noah's Ark perched on Mount Ararat; fitting for the world's first Christian nation.

Only two were made: one is in our museum in Jerusalem, and the other was donated to the Dzidzernagapert Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex.

We are delighted to present this concept tile mural created for a discerning client in Houston, Texas.

Thank you, Jonathan, for entrusting the Balian Armenian Ceramics Studio with this exceptional addition to your swimming pool area. The composition originates from the treasured sketches of renowned ceramic artist Marie Balian, preserved within our historic studio collection and now being brought to life for a new generation.

The mural will be reproduced on 6 × 6-inch high-quality porcelain tiles, combining the character of traditional hand-painted Armenian ceramics with the strength, water resistance, and durability required for an outdoor pool environment.

Created in Jerusalem and destined for Texas, this bespoke mural represents more than decoration. It is a meeting of art, architecture, heritage, and craftsmanship—transforming a swimming pool into a distinctive and timeless space.
