‘Madar مدار’
A conversation between craft, design and tradition.
Inspired by the traditional stone mill used to press olives and the cycle of the olive harvest, Madar explores what happens when design emerges from the possibilities of the material itself.
Using the encalmo technique, different sections of coloured glass are joined while hot, melted into one, then blown and turned. As the glass moves, the joined sections move with it, forming the concentric rings that define the collection.
Madar a cycle, an orbit, a circular path brings together the movement of the mill, the cycle of the harvest, and the transformation of glass.
A collection of olive oil dispensers and serving plates, bringing the story back to the dining table.
