אוניברסיטת אלברטה שבקנדה הדיחה אתמול מתפקידה את סמנתה פירסון, מנהלת מרכז סיוע, שחתמה על מכתב המכחיש את מעשי האונס ע"י ארגון הטרור חמאס.

הצעד חשוב אך לא מספיק, כך כותבות מאיגוד מרכזי הסיוע לנפגעות ולנפגעי תקיפה מינית בישראל, אשר שלחו מכתב לאוניברסיטה, בו הסבירו את חשיבות המאבק בהכחשת אלימות מינית.
בין הדברים שנכתבו בפנייה: זמן קצר לאחר הטבח ב – 7 באוקטובר שביצע חמאס בישראל קיבלנו מספר דיווחים על תקיפות מיניות שביצעו מחבלי החמאס כנגד נשים ונערות ישראליות. העיתונות הישראלית והבינלאומית חשפו עדויות ודיווחי עדי ראייה של אנשי חילוץ, עדים וניצולי הטבח אשר הצביעו באופן חד משמעי על האמת הבלתי ניתנת להכחשה: היו מקרים של תקיפות מיניות ע"י אנשי החמאס אשר קיבלו גם פקודות מפורשות לתקוף מינית נשים ישראליות, כך העידו בחקירותיהם.
