Photoperiodic lighting allows you to extend the day without needing more sun.

The strategy here is different from photosynthetic lighting. With photosynthetic light, you want to maximize energy: "What is the most light I can push into my plant and still get a return in yield?" With photoperiodic lighting, you want to minimize energy: "What is the lowest level of light I can use and still get the biological effect?"

This is how you take complete control of your timeline. Depending on your crop, adding or stopping this minimal light can either trigger flowering or prevent it entirely. You decide exactly when your plants make that transition.
