If your orchid could talk, it would probably be giving you these signals every day. 🌸👀

Your orchid’s roots, leaves and new growth can tell you a lot about what’s happening with the plant.

🌱 Silver roots → May be ready for watering
🍂 Yellow leaf → Check whether it’s an old leaf or a sign of stress
🥀 Wrinkled leaves → Check the roots and water uptake
☀️ Burnt leaves → Check for harsh direct sunlight

The more you learn to read your orchid, the easier orchid care becomes.

What is your orchid telling you right now? 🌱👇

Comment your orchid’s symptom and we may feature it in our next reel!

Healthy orchid leaves but no flowers? 🌿❌🌸

If your orchid looks healthy but refuses to bloom, take a look at its lighting conditions. ☀️

Many orchids can survive in low light—but surviving and blooming are two very different things.

For many orchids, providing enough bright, indirect or filtered light is an important part of encouraging healthy growth and flowering.

But light isn’t the only factor. Your orchid also needs:

🌱 Proper watering
☀️ Adequate light
💧 Good root health
🌿 Proper nutrition
🌡️ Suitable growing conditions

So before assuming your orchid is “not a flowering plant,” check its light first! 👀

Remember: Healthy leaves don’t always mean your orchid is getting enough light to bloom.

Can orchids handle direct sunlight? ☀️🌸

The answer depends on the type of orchid—but for many popular orchids, especially Phalaenopsis, harsh direct afternoon sunlight can cause leaf burn.

🌱 The safer choice is usually bright, indirect light.

A little gentle morning sunlight can be beneficial, but always observe your orchid. If the leaves feel hot or you notice yellow, brown, or bleached-looking patches, your orchid may be getting too much direct sun.

Remember:

☀️ Bright light = Good
🔥 Harsh afternoon sun = Risky
🌤️ Filtered/indirect light = Safer for many orchids

And don’t forget—different orchid varieties have different light requirements.

Does your orchid really need a bigger pot? 🪴👀

One of the most common orchid repotting mistakes is choosing a pot that is too large. While a bigger pot may seem like it gives your orchid more room to grow, it can actually hold excess moisture around the roots and cause the growing medium to stay wet for longer.

Orchids generally prefer a pot that fits their root system comfortably. When repotting, only move to a slightly bigger pot if the roots genuinely need more space.

🌱 Choose the pot based on the roots—not the size of the leaves!

Remember: For orchids, bigger isn’t always better. 🪴

The best time to water your orchid is in the morning 🌱☀️

For most orchids, watering before 12 PM gives the excess water time to drain and the growing medium time to dry before temperatures drop at night.

Watering too late can leave the potting media wet for longer, which can increase the risk of root rot, especially when airflow is poor.

💧 Best practice:
✔️ Water in the morning
✔️ Let excess water drain completely
✔️ Keep good airflow around the plant
✔️ Avoid letting the orchid sit in stagnant water

Not every orchid makes the cut. 🌸
Before any plant leaves our nursery, it passes 3 quality checks: root health, leaf condition, and bud count (whatever you have selected). If it doesn’t pass, it stays back until it’s ready.
This is why our orchids last longer, bloom fuller, and arrive healthier — every single time.
No shortcuts. No exceptions. Just orchids that are actually ready for your home. 🪴

Ever wondered why some orchids smell amazing and others have zero scent? 🌸 It’s not random — it’s science!
Orchids evolved fragrance to attract specific pollinators. Species like Cattleya, Oncidium Sharry Baby, and Zygopetalum are famous for their strong, distinctive scents — while most Phalaenopsis rely on visual cues instead of smell to attract bees and moths.
💡 Pro tip: fragrant orchids usually smell strongest in the morning, so that’s the best time to enjoy them!
If you’re building a scented plant collection, choosing the right variety makes all the difference.
