Or is it?
Most people would burn it or throw it away. We did something else.
Here's ZERO-WASTE farming in 3 photos:
PHOTO 1: The trunk becomes a support pole.
A banana stem is strong, fibrous and naturally ROT-RESISTANT for months.
We use it as a live pole for climbers instead of buying plastic/metal stakes.
Zero cost. 100% biodegradable.
PHOTO 2: The rest we chopped.
That one stem holds 90% water and a huge amount of potassium and nutrients.
Why buy fertilizer?
PHOTO 3: We returned it to the soil.
We dropped the chopped discs in a trench.
It soaks-in and slowly releases water, feeds earthworms, and becomes rich compost right where the next plant will grow.
NO waste.
ZERO transport.
NO burning.
This is REGENERATIVE FARMING:
We don't have "waste" - we see NUTRIENTS that need RE-PURPOSING.
One banana tree = FRUIT for us, POLE for our garden, and FOOD for the soil that will grow the next crop.
Nature works in circles, rarely in straight lines.
