In design, the act of creation doesn’t really ever end. For us, the biggest discovery with creating these products for Gosh has been that there are infinite possibilities to reinvent pieces so that they remain relevant.

For Karthik Srinivasan and me, the design beliefs that govern what we do at are very close to how we actually live. A while ago, had created this little mobile sandpit for Akira. With her now spending more time outdoors and also with her new Beach-in-a-Box, she doesn’t really use the sandpit as much. And, we needed to find space for her ever-growing collection of books.

So decided to transform this piece into a low bookshelf that’s easily accessible for our 10-month-old little Adil to be able to stand up and pull out his own books.

What’s the fun in crafting something if you can’t have fun while doing it? We asked Akira if she wanted to paint this for her brother and she jumped with joy.

What is it about rainbows that sparks joy in every kid? Akira set about in her rainbow-coloured skirt to create a rainbow-coloured bookshelf for her little brother. Watch this space to see the final version of what she made.

The idea for a new product usually begins with someone in mind. In the past, this has led to a bar cabinet for our parents' home, a jewellery box for co-founder , a terrarium planter for our friends and many bookshelves for our daughter.

Our co-founder, Karthik Srinivasan likes to build most of the products in our home studio before anything else. It helps him to arrive at something that is structurally sound and through multiple iterations, also something that is aesthetically pleasing. Here's what co-founder has built, straight from the studio - a guitar stand for our brother-in-law's not one, but three guitars.

Crafting one soon at the Gosh factory for all those budding musicians. Watch this space.

So happy to see The Cocoon in The Hindu today! While we've been excited at nearly every stage of starting a new venture, seeing Gosh being featured in a reputed newspaper is an amazing feeling. What makes it even more special is that ’s grandfather used to be the Assistant Editor of The Hindu.

Thank you , for writing about us. If you'd like to read the article published by The Hindu, the link is in our bio.

Celebrating the atypical, The Solo—a single wooden chair—can be used both indoors or outdoors, depending on a child’s mood. The idea for The Solo grew out of our realisation that everything came in sets and pairs. And honestly, why must they? Crafted out of rubberwood, The Solo is not just versatile, but also easy to move around. Bring it home in your child’s favourite colour.

Head over to our website www.gosh.world to know more about the Solo. Pair it with our BLAT!, SLAT! or mix it up with anything you like.

So here's the first bed we made at Gosh. You know those kids who never tire of pretend-play? Well, we know one rather well. Imagining a bed for a child like this is what led us to designing The Sleepy Teepee—a whimsical and snug bed for children with a vivid imagination. The next best thing to a tent, honestly.

Built with railing on all four sides (optional), this is ideal for children who have transitioned out of co-sleeping, but want to remain in the same room as their parents. The Sleepy Teepee will feel fully at home when you add something which is an essential part of your child’s night-time ritual: a reading lamp, a dreamcatcher or even a beloved stuffed animal.

Love how has added a dream-catcher and a bumper to our Sleepy Teepee.

Thank you so much for the overwhelming responses and love that you all have shown over the last few months. This has encouraged us to now officially go into production and set up a new website (to be shared soon). Our labour of love is now getting off its feet and we are so excited to share our new designs soon.

The name Gosh! was inspired by a child’s innate sense of wonder and their constantly evolving curiosity about everything around them. Just like most of our products, the identity was also inspired by our little artist and her expressive art. The logo is actually a handwritten logotype born out of Akira, our 4-year-old, writing the word Gosh! She experimented with different media — colour pencils, paints, roller brushes, crayons, finger-paint and even sand.

Our design thinking has always hinged on the value of play. So we played around with the identity a little and created an animation of the mouth opening in wonder!

Do show us some love on our new Instagram handle .world by following our work, telling us what you think of our products and sharing it with others who may be interested. Thanks, again!
