The LBN Shelf | Shelf 03

Behind every great bookshop is someone who chose to stay — through slow afternoons, tired shelves, and readers who needed exactly the right book at exactly the right time. This shelf is for the booksellers and librarians who never made headlines, but quietly built the communities we all borrow from.

With gratitude to the authors who wrote these stories, the real booksellers and librarians who inspired them, and the editors and publishers who helped these books find their way to our shelves.

Sunday's random stack - no theme, no plan, just whatever caught my eye rearranging the shelves this morning.

Gothic dread, a feverish little nightmare, a q***r summer in rural Ireland, a father-son story that will wreck you, a circus fleeing through Burma & the history around it, a countdown romance, and a cult thriller wearing a new-mom disguise. Genuinely no idea how these ended up next to each other, but here we are!

Can't decide? Bring your favorite pick to Sunday's reading club (Aug 2nd, 4pm to 6pm) - let's argue about it. 👇

📍 Horamavu Main Road, behind Health and Glow — come flip through them yourself, we're open till 8pm (Tuesday to Sunday).

Freedom gave us a beginning.
The rest remains an ongoing conversation.

This edition of The LBN Shelf brings together books on freedom, the making of modern India, constitutional values, rights, institutions and the many voices that continue to shape our collective future.

Some books may affirm what you know.
Others may challenge it.
All of them invite us to stay curious.

The LBN Shelf | Shelf 01

Some books stay with us because they tell unforgettable stories.

Others stay because they help us understand lives, identities, and experiences beyond our own.

For the first edition of The LBN Shelf, we've put together a collection of books that explore q***r voices through memoirs, fiction, essays, and personal narratives. These are books about courage, identity, belonging, love, loss, resilience - and, above all, humanity.

We hope the LBN Shelf become a space for discovery, thoughtful conversations, and recommendations that go beyond bestseller lists.

📚 Which book from this shelf would you pick up first, and why?

🗨 What theme should The LBN Shelf explore next?

We'd love to hear from you.

What if the spaces that shape us aren't just our home and workplace?

Today, I had the opportunity to speak as an Educator at a Toastmasters club on a topic that has become deeply personal to me—Third Spaces.

A 30-min interactive session on my journey from corporate life to entrepreneurship, how LBN quietly transitioned into a Third Space and why Third Spaces matter.

One of the biggest surprises for the audience? When I shared that my journey back to books began with BTS. 😊

Sometimes, purpose finds us in the most unexpected ways.

Thank you to the club for the warm welcome, thoughtful questions, and engaging conversations. It was a privilege to reflect on a journey that continues to shape me every day.

Here's to finding—and creating—spaces where people feel seen, heard, and that they belong.
