📚 New Arrival
From the award-winning author of the global bestseller Butter, Hooked by Asako Yuzuki is an unmissable novel about friendship, loneliness, and dangerous obsession.
Eriko’s life seems perfect — loving parents, a pristine apartment, and a high-flying job in the seafood division of one of Japan’s biggest trading companies. Her latest project, reintroducing the controversial Nile perch fish into the Japanese market, is as ambitious as ever. But beneath her flawless exterior lies a deep loneliness.
Everything changes when Eriko becomes fascinated by a popular blog written by a housewife, Shōko. Her posts about convenience-store meals and her messy home stand in stark contrast to the carefully curated image of the ideal Japanese housewife. When Eriko finally tracks Shōko down and befriends her, the connection seems harmless at first — until Eriko’s growing obsession begins to spiral out of control.
Beautifully translated by Polly Barton, Hooked is a gripping and unsettling exploration of friendship, obsession, food, and womanhood in contemporary Japan.
✨ One of the most anticipated books featured in Vogue, Guardian, New York Times, The Times, Sunday Times Style, Elle, Stylist, BBC, and Grazia.

From the bestselling author of What You Are Looking For Is in the Library comes a warm, tender new story — Hot Chocolate on Thursday by Michiko Aoyama ☕🌸
Across a quiet bridge, beneath blooming cherry blossoms, stands the Marble Café. Inside, a woman writes in her notebook while a young waiter prepares her usual hot chocolate. They wonder about each other — and about the secret stories of the café’s regulars.
A riverside walk. The perfect tamagoyaki. A cup of hot chocolate. Even forgetting to remove nail polish.
In these small, everyday moments lie unexpected encounters that can gently change a life.
Hot Chocolate on Thursday weaves together twelve interconnected slice-of-life stories, opening and closing with a simple order at the mysterious Marble Café. What unfolds in between is a tender reminder that we are all part of each other’s stories.
A comforting read that will quietly touch your heart. 🤍

When is the last time you ran your hands through the tumult of wild grass flowers? Or stopped to watch a firefly? In a warming, hostile world, how do we find purpose? Perhaps we can start with noticing the bird outside one's window?

In her new book, Wild Capital, acclaimed nature writer Neha Sinha takes us on an unforgettable journey through the hidden wildernesses of the bustling metropolis of Delhi, where she finds wild creatures, ecological histories and a deep sense of meaning that bind us to the places we call our own. Exploring the city over many days and nights, Neha traces memories and the stories of extraordinary human lives, discovering centuries-old groves of trees and neglected rivers, mammal tracks and bird calls, words forgotten and then re-found.

The result is a deeply personal yet universal book which reveals how we can find our place in the world through the exploration of natural places-and presents a manifesto of hope through the rediscovery of nature.

A Tribute to Madhav Gadgil
Madhav Gadgil was a rare voice of reason, integrity, and deep ecological wisdom. A pioneering environmentalist and scholar, he dedicated his life to understanding India’s rich natural heritage and to reminding us—often courageously—of our responsibility to protect it. His work went far beyond research; it challenged systems, questioned unchecked development, and placed people and nature at the centre of policy and progress.
As the architect of the Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel, he stood firm for science, sustainability, and democratic decision-making, even when it was inconvenient or unpopular. His clarity of thought, intellectual honesty, and moral courage continue to inspire generations of environmentalists, researchers, and citizens.
Madhav Gadgil leaves behind a legacy rooted in care for the land, respect for local communities, and an unwavering belief that ecological balance is essential for a just future. His voice may be silent, but his ideas will continue to guide conversations on conservation, development, and coexistence.
He will be remembered not only for what he taught us about nature, but for how deeply he listened to it.
