Funky Rainbow: The Travelling Children's Bookshop carries an exclusive selection of Indian children's books and puts them up for sale at children's events across Bangalore. The books are handpicked by writers, illustrators and editors for children between the ages of 0 to 18 years. Our collection is curated to represent the best of Indian children's writing because we believe that books by Indian writers work well for children in terms of connections, discoveries and experiences. FOR THE LOVE OF LANGUAGE
Funky Rainbow is delighted to be the children's bookstore partner of the Book Brahma Literature Festival 2026. Book Brahma is India's largest Indian language festival, and we are here on the 21st-22nd-23rd of August with a curated collection of Indian children's books in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and English. Come, discover India's depth and diversity through colourful children's books in various languages.

The festival's children's segment Chinnara Loka brings together authors and illustrators like Mala Kumar, Niharika Shenoy, Pooja Sagar, Anupama K Benachinamaradi and Prabha Tendolkar Sudagade among others whose exciting books we have on our shelves.

Adult speakers like Perumal Murugan, Harini Nagendra, Arunava Sinha and Mohammed Khadeer Babu, we gladly invite you to visit our pop-up at the festival and autograph your delightful children's books for us :)

The focus language of the festival this year is Bengali, and of course, we have an array of Bengali children's books by Satyajit Ray, Sukumar Ray, Moti Nandy, Lila Majumdar, Narayan Gangopadhyay, Mahasweta Devi, Rabindranath Tagore (all translated into English) for readers of all ages to enjoy!
