Sounds and songs on a Sunday.

It’s one of those beautiful days when the mundane starts feeling a little magical —
the walk to the studio turns into wandering through wonderland landscapes,
making tea and sketching first thing becomes a little ritual, almost divine,
the frustrations from experiments turn into little lessons,
and somehow, by the end of it, even the simplest things feel full of gratitude.

A day of sounds, songs, clay, small frustrations, little discoveries
and the quiet joy of being exactly where I am.

Exactly where I am — living a life I once dreamt of,
and spending my days doing what I truly love.

Perhaps this is what clay has taught me —
to be here, fully,
until even the ordinary moments feel like a fuller life.

Sometimes I wonder what keeps pulling me back to clay.

Maybe it’s the fact that it never asks me to be just one thing.

I can shape it, change it, break it, begin again —
and somehow find a little bit of myself in all of it.

That feels magical.

A regular day at the residency .kingdom

Pick an apron, choose a tea, wedge some clay, set up the wheel… and then the fun begins.

A few forms from today, mostly in black clay. These will get played around with some more — cutting, marking, altering, experimenting with textures and surfaces.

Just a little glimpse of what an ordinary day in the studio looks like here.

Studio fragments.

Experiments.
Failures.
Small discoveries.
And a table slowly filling with possibilities.

Sometimes that’s enough for a good day.

New beginnings.

Absolutely thrilled and Excited to have started my residency Ceramic Kingdom Berlin.

These first few days have been less about making finished pieces and more about slowing down, observing, getting to know the clay, playing, and allowing myself to experiment without knowing where things will lead.

I’ve been returning to familiar gestures, cutting apart thrown forms, building by hand, feeling the clay, revisiting kolam-inspired structures, and following small curiosities as they appear.

Looking forward to seeing how these next few months unfold.

Thank you to everyone at Ceramic Kingdom for the warm welcome. 🙏

This is my first bisque firing in my homestudio after moving to hometown. It’s also my first firing in a larger 1027 skirt kiln. I used to own a smaller 714 skutt before. I could only fill half of it with the works I did this time. For people wondering, why I couldn’t wait to fill it up, I have something coming up soon and I will not have time to do a firing.
So I could only fill half of the kiln and years ago that would have gotten me worried too much, it still would in future if I don’t fill the kiln and waste the energy but guess what it also reminded me of all the possibitlies that I have. all work I dreamt of making and cudnt because of the kiln size restrictions previously.
However for now, I am simply happy to be making again.
