The Kohinoor diamond, sitting in the British crown, was pulled from the soil of Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh knows it as the beginning of a much longer story, one that never stopped after the diamond left.
Andhra Pradesh has numerous arts and crafts that are as valuable as that diamond, and we should give the recognition they deserve to the craft and its makers. And that is exactly what The Indian Artisan is working towards.
Share this so people know Andhra’s craft culture runs deeper beyond Kohinoor’s history.

A state’s history doesn’t live only in books and monuments. Sometimes, it is woven into fabric, painted on walls, shaped in clay, hammered into metal and passed from one pair of hands to another.

Maharashtra’s crafts carry centuries of skill, identity and local tradition. Some are famous across the country, while many others are still waiting to be discovered.

Which state should we explore next?
