Ending the year with images from a beaded dog workshop with Anitha .

A super fun workshop. A project which i had badly wanted to do during my childhood but couldn't find anyone willing to teach me then.

Thank you, Anitha - for a childhood wish turning true. Looking forward to some more fun filled projects in 2026.

My lone star quilt - quilted and bound

Custom quilted on long arm

A lone star had always been on my list of " wanna make quilts" and I was so thrilled when Tina () announced the workshop.

This was way back in 2022.
It took me a while to finish the large quilt. I also redid the borders as I wasn't very happy with them.
While my quilt wasn't perfect, Tina made it one with the fabulous quilting.
My favorite smaller elements?
1. The mariners compass blocks( another item on the "wanna do" list)
2. The fluffy feather quilting on the solid areas.

Everyone should own a Lonestar quilt - for warmth, comfort and for celebrating life!

My "Russi"
32" X 27 " in Charcoal.

From my Art Basics class with

Dedicated to our family dog, Russi, a yellow labrador- the sweetest, brightest, chonkiest, gluttonous imp. This May, it would be 5 years since we said good bye to him. He was 13 and a quarter.

Also fondly remembering
1. Loony, the accidental pet who introduced me and my sister to the love of a dog. A sweetheart and beautiful indie - a life cut short, sadly, when we lost him to respiratory illness.
2. Loony 2- A rowdy indie who went missing
3. Loony 3 - A black indie who moved stealthily and jumped up on unsuspecting guests and neighbours. And who travelled by road all the way from central to south India when my father retired.

My tribute will be incomplete without mentioning my current fellah, Rocky, my rescue, a lab mix, who is trying really hard to become a good boy.😅

Thank Chitra for being such a fab guru and for motivating me to make Russi's.
