From waking up with panic attacks in the morning to consciously choosing deep breaths for calmness today, it’s been quite a journey.
I have never spoken about how the journey of mandalas started and progressed in my life. But in last 5-6 years, if my relationship with mandalas have helped me blossom into a different person, I think it’s time to share more about it with the intention to spread the magic of mandalas for more people.
It will be a series of posts over time so read on if you are interested to explore the power of mandalas in your personal transformation journey.
My Facebook posts in the year 2015 were some of the most negative ones in the journey of life. I engaged in a lot of passive aggressive expressions ( a behaviour where you are unable to communicate with people, lack emotional regulation and end up talking about the feelings indirectly leading nowhere but just temporary massage to the ego).
I was stuck and immature, with lots of unresolved emotions within built over years( generations is a more apt word).
Then in 2016, my batchmate Nandini with whom I had never even spoken in school sent me these two books for New Year.
Meditative Art. Tried them for the first time. And slowly art started making its way into my life more through kolams, rangoli, crafts.
In 2018, my journey with mandalas began on a serious note. The initial few months, I did not know any basics, I was purely experimenting by taking inspiration online. Then I met a pro mandala artist online who encouraged me to try more designs and patterns.
That’s the first magic - when you start believing in the power of art and give it time, a complete stranger who has been on a similar path shows up as a catalyst.
