My miniatures are made mainly with quilling papers for dolls and with polymer clay for food items. Am a dentist by education and found out my dormant passion for crafts when I was helping my creative daughter to ma

ke her miniatures. Soon I found out am good in making miniatures just as my daughter and discovered my passion. Through miniatures I started to tell stories of my golden childhood days to my daughter. When our collections of miniatures grew, I planned to display them in our Navratri Golu and just like that Maaya crafts was born with niche of selling miniatures based on Indian cultures and traditions. I am glad and proud to say that Maaya crafts is India's first handmade golu dolls store that speak richness of India's culture and traditions.

Miniature Breakfast Platter Workshop at Vasudha Cultural Centre Coimbatore last week! ✨

What made this workshop truly special was the participants’ enthusiasm—it was absolutely contagious! From rolling tiny dosas to shaping miniature idlis, every little detail was created with so much excitement and joy.

The sweetest highlight of the day was seeing a grandmother and granddaughter join the workshop together. Watching them laugh, create, and spend quality time making miniature food side by side was truly heartwarming. ❤️

Moments like these remind me that creativity has no age limit. Thank you to everyone who joined and made this workshop such a memorable one. Looking forward to creating many more miniature memories together! 🌸

Thank you all for the overwhelming response for July month workshop!! The july month online workshop is not yet over and am already getting ready for the next month workshop!!

It was love at first sight when I saw miniature cup cakes made by maaya and the joy doubled when I lay my hands on making a tiny bakery shelf for the first time! It was like a life born out of pieces of wood!! The next 5 yrs went by the thirst of finding the right materials for both quilling and clay miniature, sourcing them, watching endless videos and browsing on making miniature food items, mastering the techniques and exploring all of the themes I liked and loved all my life in miniature forms and selling them on Etsy on the side and conducting workshops at Indian heritage centre Singapore.

I moved to India and my new home consumed all my time I had for crafts.
In that 9 yrs I imagined number of ways and dreamt of various ideas to take my passion to the next level.. which included,

1. Making Indus Valley civilisation and Keeladi civilisation in miniature forms and getting them to be displayed in a museum
2. Open an exclusive miniature store in India that sells everything required to make a miniatures under one roof

I haven’t done the both yet. I found teaching quilling miniatures is little bit challenging than clay miniatures! So I attended a short course in Malaysia to upskill my hands on clay miniatures and also to source the required materials ! The next plan is to run miniature food workshops and sell the diy kits online and to sell all the supplies required to do a miniature story telling under one roof!

I believe this small step of mine will connect all the dots in future to a whole beautiful and meaningful thing!!
