The Clay Company - Teaching Studio We are a niche art company - focused on pottery and ceramics. The Clay Company works with a panel of artists and qualified teachers as 'associates'.

We work to increase knowledge of ceramics, encourage appreciation and improve accessibility of the art form. Teaching ceramics is a huge part of what we do - we conduct workshops and hold regular lessons for all skill levels. At TTC we believe that creativity is inherent in us all... each of us just needs to find the right medium of expression for it! These artists and qualified teachers conduct o

ur workshops and execute on the commissions we take on. TCC was founded by Aparna Choudhrie in 2011. Aparna has spent 13+ years in the Corporate world in leadership roles across with PriceWaterHouse Coopers, GE/Genpact and Infosys BPO. Stop settling for wonky pots! 🏺 If you want a perfect pinched piece every time, avoid these 3 common mistakes:
* ❌ Using “Wrong” Clay: Don’t start if your clay is too wet (it’ll slump) or too dry (it’ll crack). Aim for that “Goldilocks” soft-but-firm texture.
* ❌ Pinching in One Spot: Never stay in one place. Rotate the pot constantly as you pinch to ensure the walls stay even and the shape stays circular.
* ❌ Skipping the Finish: Don’t stop once the shape is done! Spend time compressing the rim and smoothing the surface to turn a “craft” into a professional piece.
