Anshu Bhattacharya, an alumnus of Nirmala Niketan, University of Mumbai, is a qualified fashion and textile designer, who has conceptualized Refreshingly Rave. Aparna Kaul Pandita, a young and vivacious fashion designer, has been associated with Rave for the last 4 years and is currently managing the store. Rave – a fashion label launched by Anshu Bhattacharya in 2000, has a design philosophy that
can be summarised by three adjectives – elegance, wearability and most of all, versatility. The key element in her designs is of course the fabric where she prefers comfortable and natural fibres that have a strong lineage towards cotton. This established designer has showcased at premier exhibitions and shows in association with Femina, DNA and other such names at various cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. In Goa she has showcased at the ‘Celebrate Panjim’ Festival in 2003, ‘La’Affaire Extraordinaire’ in 2004, ‘Goan Fashion Extravaganza’ in 2006, Horizons ’07 and, the hugely acclaimed fashion shows at the Navy Ball 2007 and Navy Ball 2008. She was on the Designer Panel of Femina and a regular Associate at Femina Clothes Shows at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Goa since 2004 and a special Designer invitee at DNA Clothes Shows at Mumbai and Bangalore and has showcased alongside International Designers at the Exclusive Launch of “Me” magazine at Hilton Towers Mumbai. Keeping in tune with the nuances of the Goan climate, Rave has also successfully outfitted the Executives and Staff of a number of Resorts as well as Travel firms and Casinos in Goa. In addition to its own prêt store in Vasco da Gama, Refreshingly Rave also retails at Acron Arcade, Candolim and Boutique, Panjim. It has individual units for manufacture of uniforms and her exclusive line of garments. Rave has very recently launched a collection of hand painted and hand block printed Saris in various Indian Art Forms. Do drop in, next time you're in Goa!!
