Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh Ji rescues a kidnapped Hindu bride.

Devi Das had just gotten married and his marriage ceremony was attacked by a local Mughal Chief Jabar Khan. Jabar Khan was known to take the brides of Hindu men before the marriage could take place so he could do immoral things with them. After the attack, Devi Das went to all the local Hindu and Muslim chiefs for help but none dared to confront Jabar Khan. Finally an older Muslim gentleman told Devi Das that the King of Kings at Anandpur Sahib will help you.

Devi Das quickly went to Anandpur Sahib and fell at the feet of Guru Gobind Singh Ji , he pleaded that his wife was kidnapped and that no one has come to his aid. Guru Gobind Singh Ji picked up Devi Das and brushed off the dust from Devi Das' wedding kurta and stated "Do not worry, the Khalsa will get your wife back and punish demons who do such acts."

Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh Ji was standing nearby and Guru Sahib instructed him to gather 200 Singhs and to retrieve the wife of Devi Das from Jabar Khan's camp. Baba Ajit Singh Ji and the Singhs attacked the camp and took Jabar Khan's forces by surprise. A battle took place and the Singhs were victorious and rescued the bride. Many Singhs became Shaheed in that battle and Baba Ajit Singh Ji personally organized the funeral pyre and recited the final rites of the Shaheeds (there is a Gurdwara in Mahilpur-Ladewal area of Hoshiarpur commemorating the battle and cremation of the Singhs called Gurdwara Shaheeda).

Jabar Khan was taken alive to Anandpur Sahib, and due to being a serial ra**st, he was executed by the Khalsa. Devi Das' wife was saved by Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji and the Khalsa before any misdeeds could have taken place. Dhan Dhan Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh Ji🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

It's been about 2 months and a bit since the Sovereign Canvas website went live. The overwhelming support and beautiful messages I have recieved have been very touching. I would like to thank everyone who has reached out or invested in a piece from Sovereign Canvas.

I'd also like to thank the ones who have sent negative comments or tried to get my posts taken down (Modi IT cell). Though they were successful on Tik Tok, I appealed the decisions and won👍🏼🚩. But it's an ongoing thing lol. Some think I'm propagating terrorism and violence with some of the pieces, even some Sikh accounts won't share the art probably due to the same reasons. Everyone has their opinion, it's all good.

My opinion lies in the art. Why should we as a Kaum be apologetic about our history and the way we conducted ourselves? The Khalsa Panth saved thousands of women from being abducted and sold off to prostitution in the Bazaars of Kabul and Tehran by cracking the skulls of the Afghan army in the mid 1700s. A handful of Singhs led by Sant Ji(150-200) fought till the last man against 10,000 Indian army soldiers which had tanks, helicopters, and bombs for 3 days in June 84.

The 6th form of Guru Nanak in Guru Hargobind Sahib introduced us with this beauty of weaponary and fighting physically for righteousness if that is the last resort. Henceforth the slogan of the company is "Our History Our Way". Why censor what the Guru Sahib's themselves have given us?

More and more pieces will be coming out in the coming months, highlighting the great historical figures we have. The main goal of this company is to have readily available high quality Sikh art for the masses and to get our roots on the walls, in the houses, offices, etc.

Guru Hargobind Sahib and Painde Khan.

Guru Hargobind Sahib had taken in a teenage orphan by the name of Painde Khan. Seeing that he was a Muslim, Khan was given full education in Islam. Guru Sahib was impressed with his build so Khan was given the best training (horses, wrestling, swords, bow and hand to hand combat). As Khan grew older he fought battles along side Guru Sahib and was given favored treatment within the Guru's entourage of warriors. Gifts that were presented to Guru Sahib were often bestowed to Khan by Maharaj.

However due to growing ego within Painde Khan, he started regifting some items to his own friends/family for personal gain. One such item was a hawk, in which Guru Sahib asked about and Painde Khan feeling offended about Guru Sahib's questions, left the Sangat and joined forces with the Mughal forces to fight against Guru Sahib. Having been trained very well by Guru Sahib, the Mughal forces were keen on recruiting Khan as he was knowledgeable in the war tactics of the Sikhs. He was offered a very high position within the army, land, and gold.

At the battle of Kartarpur in 1635, Painde Khan led a large segment of the Mughal army against Guru Hargobind Sahib and the Sikhs. As the battle ensued, Khan saw Guru Sahib amidst the battle and thought he would capture Guru Sahib alive and take him to the Mughal camp and collect a huge bounty. Painde Khan jumped off his horse and went to tip over Guru Sahib's horse but could not maneuver the horse properly. Guru Sahib told Painde Khan to attack him with his sword, like how he had taught him. Khan then struck Guru Sahib 3 times but Maharaj blocked all 3 attempts. Guru Sahib then TKO'd Khan with a blow to the head with a shield.

Painde Khan was knocked out for a couple of minutes and Guru Sahib stood waiting for him to regain conciousness. Khan woke up and instantly jumped at Guru Sahib with a weapon but Maharaj quickly struck a blow with his sword that went from Khan's collar bone to the middle of his rib cage(abdomen), almost splitting him in 2.
