🔑 KEY HIGHLIGHTS :

🎇 Ramadan (also referred to as Ramzan), the ninth Islamic month, is deemed pious for two reasons It is the month when the GLORIOUS QUR'AN was revealed to Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him) on 'Laylat al-Qadr' (Night of Decree) Other than observing a fast, Muslims follow a set of protocols and abide by them. Read on to know the dos and don'ts.

🎇 Ramadan (also referred to as Ramzan), the ninth Islamic month, is deemed pious for two reasons. It is the month when the GLORIOUS QUR'AN was revealed to Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him) on 'Laylat al-Qadr' 'Night of Decree' (one of the odd-numbered nights during the last ten days of Ramadan, and therefore, Muslims hail this period as specifically blessed). Followers of this faith observe a fast from sunrise to sunset during Ramadan because it is one of the Five Pillars of Islam.

🎇 Besides keeping a fast, Muslims follow a set of protocols and abide by them. Devout Muslims believe that the month of Ramadan emphasises self-discipline, self-control, universal brotherhood and nurtures empathy towards the less privileged. Ahead of Ramadan this year, know what a Muslim must and must not do during the Holy Month.

Muslims are expected to read the GLORIOUS QUR'AN (Holy books of the Muslims) during the month of Ramadan. As stated above, Almighty God Allaah's teachings came from heaven to the earth in the form of the Noble Qur'an and were first revealed to Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him) during this blessed month of Ramadan.

🎇🔳✔️ DO OFFER OBLIGATORY FIVES TIMES SALAAH PRAYERS:

Obligatory by God Salaah Prayers must be observed five times a day. During Ramadan, a day starts with Fajr (during dawn), followed by Zhuhr (midday), Asr (afternoon), Maghrib (evening), and concludes with the Isha (night) prayers.

🎇⚫️ IN RAMADHAN IT IS A GRWAT BLESSINGS FOR MUSLUM TO COMSUME PRE-DAWN MEALS CALLED 'SUHUR'.

🎇 Muslims consume a pre-dawn meal called Suhur, and they break their fast by having 'Iftaar'(openingfast meal) at the time of sunset (Magrib). These timings are of great significance because fasting takes place between these two meals. Read on to know the timings.

🎇🔳✔️ 'SUHUR' (PRE-DAWN MEAL):

During this month, Muslims consume a pre-dawn meal called Suhur, and they break their fast by having Iftar. These timings are of great significance because fasting takes place between these two meals.
Timings of 'Suhur' (pre-dawn meal) varios around the world check your local Masjid/Mosque timings, they shall be able to issue you a 30 days Ramadan Calender stating the beginning and ending of fast times, also it will state the timings of the five daily Salaah Prayers.

🎇🔳✔️ ON WHOM IT OBLIGATORY TO FAST:

Adult Muslims and children who have attained puberty, except for those who are ill, the elderly, and pregnant/breastfeeding/menstruating women, fast during the month of Ramadaan. However, those who are sick or pregnant compensate by fasting at a later date.

For those Muslims who are sick and cannot Compemsate there missed fasts on a later date, of for them to observe fasts may cause a medical chance for there health to further deterioate and they are not aware of there recovery time. Almighty God Allaah commanded them to pay Kaffarah for each missed fast by feeding a poor twice a day for 30 days.
Then the Muslim will not be held accountable by Allah on the day of Judgement.

Rate of meal for poor person is £2.50 in England. All rates differ in every country please check with your local Masjid/Mosque the rate of feeding the poor twice a day for 30 days.
Feed the genuine starving Muslims.

⚫️🎇 COMPENSATION (KAFFAARAH) FOR INTENTIONALLY BREAKING A FAST :

🔺🔘️ If a person starts fasting then breaks the fast without a valid reason, he will have to keep 'Kaffaarah' (Compensation) of sixty consecutive fasts as well as one Qadhaa, totalling sixty-one days. It is necessary that the sixty days of 'Kaffaarah' (Compensation) be kept consecutively. If a person misses one day of fasting at any stage during the sixty days, he will have to begin that 'Kaffaarah' (Compensation) all over again, even if he had fasted 59 of the 60 days. If it is a lady, her Haidh (Menstruation) in-between will not be considered as missing a few days. She will have to carry on with the 'Kaffaarah' (Compensation) fasts as soon as her 'Haidh' (Menstruation) is over.
If a person broke a few fasts, he will keep one Kaffaarah (Compensation) and 'Qadhaa' of the days missed.
(Ahsanul Fataawa V4 P434).

🔺🔘️ If one does not observe the fasts of Ramadhaan, there is no 'Kaffaarah' (Compensation) , only 'Qadhaa' for each fast missed. However, the sin is equally major. The Hadeeth Shareef states that one who misses one fast of Ramadhaan without illness or a valid excuse, will not be able to make up for the reward of that day even if he has to fast his entire lifetime. (Fazaa-ile A’maal).

🔺🔘️ Fasting is 'Fardh' (Obligatory) and the person who neglects a Fardh (Obligatory) is neglecting a direct command of Almighty God Allah (Subhaanahu Wa'taa'la) and one cannot imagine the punishment for such violation of the command of Almighty God Allaah. ☝️

▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🎇 IF A MUSLIM EATS, DRINKS SMOKES OR HAS SEXUAL RELATIONS BY MISTAKE :

🎇 Al-Bukhaari (6669) and Muslim (1155) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever forgets he is fasting and eats or drinks, let him complete his fast for it is Allaah Who has fed him and given him to drink.”

🎇 It was also narrated that he does not have to offer expiation or make up that fast.

🎇 Ibn Khuzaymah (1999) narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever breaks his fast in Ramadaan by mistake does not have to make up that day or offer expiation.” Classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Khuzaymah.

🎇 Al-Daaraqutni narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri that the Prophet Muhammad, (Peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever eats in the month of Ramadaan by mistake does not have to make up that day.”

🎇🔘 Al-Haafiz said:

Although its isnaad is weak, it may still be considered sound because there are corroborating reports. The least that could be said about it is that it is hasan, so it may be quoted as evidence. Reports that are less strong than this have been quoted as evidence with regard to many issues. It may also be supported by the fact that a number of the Sahaabah issued fatwa's (rulings) that are in agreement with this hadeeth without any one of the 'Sahaabah' (Companions of Muhammad Peace be upon him) having a different view, as was stated by : I'bn al-Mundhir, Ibn Hazm and others, and ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib, Zayd ibn Thaabit, Abu Hurayrah, and Ibn ‘Umar.

🎇🔘 And it is in accordance with the words of Almighty God Allaah states in the Glorious Qur'an :

👑☝️ “..but He will call you to account for that which your hearts 💗 have earned”
(Noble Qur’an Surah Chapter 'al-Baqarah' 2:225).

🎇 Forgetfulness is not something which is earned by the heart.💗

🎇 This hadeeth tells of the kindness of Almighty God Allaah to His 'slaves' (Mankind and Jinn) and how He makes things easier for them and alleviates hardship.

The majority of scholars quote these ahaadeeth as evidence that whoever forgets that he is fasting and breaks the fast, his fast is still valid, and he should complete his fast, and he does not have to make it up or offer any expiation.

🎇🔘 Al-Shaafa’i said in al-Umm (2/284):

If a fasting person eats or drinks in Ramadaan or in a fast observed in fulfillment of a vow or as an expiation, or a fast that is obligatory for some reason, or a voluntary fast, out of forgetfulness, then his fast is complete and he does not have to make it up.

🎇🔘 Al-Nawawi said:

This is evidence to support the view of the majority: if the fasting person eats or drinks or has in*******se because of forgetfulness, then he does not break his fast. Among those who were of this view are al-Shaafa’i, Abu Haneefah, Dawood and others.

🎇🔘 Al-Haafiz said:

An interesting story was narrated by ‘Abd al-Razzaaq from ‘Amr ibn Dinar: that a person came to Abu Hurayrah (May Allaah be pleased with him) and said: “I started fasting in the morning then I forgot and ate.” He said, “It does not matter.” He said: “Then I entered upon someone and by mistake I ate and drank.” He said, “It does not matter, Allaah has fed you and given you to drink.” Then he said: “I entered upon another person and forgot, and ate.” Abu Hurayrah said: “You are a person who is not used to fasting.”.
May Allah guide us all. Aameen.
