Where Memories Are Served on Bauhinia Leaves 🌿
In the quiet streets of 1950, children played with joy—jumping, skipping, laughing. Among them were little Rajan (9) and Savithri (7), who found themselves eliminated from a game and sitting alone. No cars, no buses—just the occasional Jamindhaar’s vehicle passing by. On that very street, an elderly woman stirred love into every laddu and halwa she made. Drawn by the aroma, Rajan and Savithri approached her and ordered millet laddu, karuppati halwa, and crunchy murukku—served on fresh Bauhinia leaves for just one naya paisa.
That moment sparked a friendship and a tradition. They returned often, sharing snacks and stories as they grew. But time moved on—Savithri married and moved to Madarasa Patnam, Rajan became a doctor in Bangalore. Life separated them, and decades passed without a meeting.
