DAMA handloom store offers sarees, fabrics, dupattas, stoles & pre-shrunk garments for men & women from our in-house brand, dãram. dãram is a brand initiated by Dastkar Andhra (DA) & Dastkar Andhra Marketing Association (DAMA) in 2007 with an aim to promote the significance of handloom process while, making good
quality garments available to the customer at a reasonable price. Our product range includes sarees with zari and thread borders, in fine counts and thick handspun yarns. Fabrics thick and thin in plains, stripes and checks, stoles and dupattas in different textures are available along with our garment range. All our products are available in both natural dyes and environment-friendly chemical dyes. Handloom is produced using the traditional techniques of hand weaving by the weavers located in the villages. The knowledge of weaving is passed down generations and usually produced by the weaving caste popularly known as Devangas and Padmashalis in the Southern part of India. Traditionally the products woven were sarees and dhoties; today the same loom caters to contemporary needs through products like sarees, yardages, stoles and dupattas. Fine count sarees and thicker count yardages for garments can be produced by the handloom. We specialize in supporting medium skill weavers to cater to the everyday needs of a contemporary customer.
