According to data published by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, the area of primary forest worldwide has decreased by over 80 million hectares since 1990. It has become increasingly pertinent to follow the three R initiative: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
We, at Bollant Industries, are striving hard to be a zero waste company while creating sustainable paper and leaf based products from fallen areca palm leaves, fibre based municipal waste and other wasted sources of fibre rich material. The plants at our factories partially run on solar power and we make use of wasted water and sewage as well.
Currently, Bollant Industries is planning to work with various farmer producing organizations particularly in the tribal areas like Paderu and Parvathipuram in coastal Andhra Pradesh. We'd like to fairly procure green leaves that the tribals sell as a source of their primary income and create leaf plates and bowls from them as a substitute to plastic plates and bowls.
As India is trying to move towards greener alternatives to single use plastics, we also have our own product to replace single use plastics in compliance with India's new initiatives. It's a water based barrier coated binder which looks and works like plastic film but it's a recyclable, repulpable and water dissolvable material, which makes it earth and environment friendly.
We would be starting online sale and export of our areca palm based products soon and are open to like minded stakeholders and partners internationally for the same! Do connect with us over DMs if you are interested in collaborating. Thank you!
