Comment WATER to know how much milk is required according to baby age (0-6months)

💧 “It’s hot… surely my newborn needs water?”

It sounds logical but babies under 6 months are different.

Breast milk already provides the hydration an exclusively breastfed baby needs, even in hot weather. Formula-fed babies get their fluids through correctly prepared formula.

Giving extra plain water this young isn’t recommended. A newborn’s kidneys are still developing, and too much water can dilute sodium levels in the blood and become dangerous.

So in hot weather:
☀️ Continue normal milk feeds
🤱 Offer breastfeeds more often if baby wants them
🍼 Prepare formula exactly as directed
👩‍⚕️ Speak to your pediatrician if you’re worried about hydration

Tiny body. Very different rules.

📱 Educational screen time isn’t as “educational” as the label promises.

Under age 2, babies learn language, cause-and-effect, and social cues almost entirely through live human interaction the back-and-forth of your voice, your face, your response to their babble.

Researchers call it the “video deficit” effect: babies who watch a person teach a word on video learn it far less reliably than babies who learn the same word from a real person in the room. Same content. Same enthusiasm. The screen just doesn’t stick the same way.

Why? Because real learning at this age is a two-way loop:
👶 baby babbles → 👩 you respond → 👶 baby tries again → 👩 you respond differently
A screen can’t do that. It talks at your baby, not with them.

This isn’t about screen-shaming. Ten minutes of a video call with grandma is a beautiful thing. A show while you make dinner isn’t ruining anyone.

But if the pitch is “my baby is learning from this app” the research is pretty clear that under age 2, the richest learning happens in the ordinary moments:
🍼 Narrating the diaper change
🚶 Talking through the walk to the park
🥣 Naming the food on the tray
📖 Reading the same board book for the 400th time
