Women, The real Architech of society, face adversity through resilence, still they stand tall and resolve most of the problems by means of smile. ILEAD, having trained nearly 200,000 youth in its 11th year of operations, expresses its gratitude to all the women trainees who constitute a whooping 40.2% of the total trained youth base. (Precisely 80,077 female participation). iLEAD has also extended support to these trainees in the terms of imparting life skills training, providing entrepreneurial support and placement assistance. Either it is opening up day care center for single mothers in Philippines or providing female oriented training programme across various locations in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Srilanka, and Cambodia; women have been major stakeholder in all such achievements. iLEAD, thanks all the women trainees for having faith, and fighting all odds and standing straight and helping iLEAD spread the baton of empowering youth with employable skills. A special thanks to all the faculties and programme and Project team members who, not only have helped the trainees excel over the skill sets but have also groomed and developed them as Change Agents in the society.

In the last one week Aide et Action South Asia has successfully reached out to affected families in 25 locations in Chennai and were able to provide basic essentials.

We still find that there are still several pockets which haven’t received adequate support and require immediate attention. This includes poor families living in the slums especially on the banks of the Adayar and Cooum Rivers and the Buckingham Canal on priority basis.

The key emerging needs are as follows: General Food, Baby Food (especially Milk Powder), Sanitary essentials (Soap, Sanitary Napkins), Drinking Water, Few basic utensils, A metal Trunk (Box) for storage and protection of materials from water, Clothes (New) especially for Women, Adolescent girls and children, General Medicines for fever cold, cuts and wounds, Mosquito repellants, Mosquito nets etc.
