TRY OUR 40 % Dark Chocolate, NOW UNDER 140 🔥

Are you sick and tired of the Summers?🥱

We'll be honest 🐻 with you, it's been a tricky ride so far. 🙍

Since launching our 40 percent dark chocolate variant we've seen a bunch of movies, rescued a bunch of animals and had our fair share of chocolates too 😋

🌞 Overall, we're feeling pretty optimistic about the final easing of lockdown.

Whilst the Summer weather might not be on our side, you can always count on us to bring Tairo Chocolates to you, No amount of rain can stop us. 🪄

Raw Vegan Chocolate Cheese Cake.

Prepration Time - 15 minutes

FILLING

- 2 heaping cups raw whole cashews - 280g
-1/4 cup sliced almonds or 2 heaping tablespoons almond butter
-1/4 cup lemon juice
-1/2 cup jaggery syrup, put jaggery in water and heat it.
-120 mL tablespoon vanilla extract
-1/4 teaspoon sea salt cup water 236 mL

CHOCOLATE CRUST

- 3 heaping cups sliced almonds not whole 310 g
- 1 Tairo chocolate bar
- 4 1/2 tablespoons raw jaggery syrup with a pinch fine sea salt

CHOCOLATE CRUST

- Add almonds and the chocolate bar to a food processor and pulse into fine crumbs. Add the jaggery and pulse again until mixture clumps together and holds it's shape when pressed together between your fingers. Take an 8x8 square pan, spray with nonstick spray and line with plastic wrap hanging over the sides for easy removal later. The spray helps the plastic wrap from moving. Press the mixture evenly around with your fingers, not forgetting about the corners. You can add a little cacao powder to your fingers to help it not stick.

FILLING

If you do not have a high powered blender such as a sujata or Morphy richards, simply soak the cashews for 5 hours in a bowl covered with room temperature water. Drain, rinse and then proceed with the recipe.
Add all filling ingredients (except the almond butter) to a high powered blender and blend until smooth and creamy, a couple of minutes.

Pour over the prepared crust.
Mix the almond butter with 3 tablespoons water until smooth. Drop spoonfuls all over the cheesecake and pull with a knife to make swirls. Do not overdo it or you will lose the swirl effect.

If desired, add almonds, and crumbled pieces of tairo chocolate on the top.

Note: Place in the freezer for several hours or overnight until firm. Let sit at room temperature about 10-15 minutes before trying to remove the cheesecake with the plastic wrap. You should be able to pull it out with the plastic wrap after it has sat out a bit. Then slice and serve. Cover with foil and return to the freezer to keep it firm.

The first time cocoa, or chocolate was used as a romantic gesture was in the Mayan culture.

The Aztecs used cocoa to create a form of “hot chocolate” or as they called it “xocolatl” which means bitter water.

Supposedly the Aztec Emperor, Montezuma – was quoted saying of Xocolatl: "The divine drink, which builds up resistance and fights fatigue. A cup of this precious drink permits a man to walk for a whole day without food."

To the Aztec’s, Xocolatl was much more valuable than gold or silver. When Montezuma was defeated by Cortez in 1519, the conquistadors searched his palace and found huge quantities of cocoa beans instead of gold, silver, or precious metals.

Cocoa/chocolate is thought be an aphrodisiac.
