We have always looked at progress from a growth perspective, and growth is all about more production. The more goods you produce, the better off you are considered. Utility measurements in economics assume a simple rule - “More is Better”. But as we enter a critical phase of the 21st century and as production is in full swing, we must start looking at quantitative indicators that can tell us the fate of goods that are being produced. It becomes highly important from an environmental perspective that we take steps to ensure that products complete their minimum life cycle.
