Is "Sugar-Free" the biggest myth in the food aisles? 🍯

Yesterday at the trade fair, I had a puzzling conversation at a Baklava stall.

The exhibitor proudly claimed his Baklava was "Sugar-Free." When I asked how it was sweetened, he replied: "Raw honey. It has no impact."
I had to politely disagree. While using raw honey over refined white sugar is a choice, calling it "sugar-free" is misleading—especially for those managing health conditions like diabetes.

The Reality Check:
Whether it’s honey, jaggery, or maple syrup, your body still processes them as glucose.

▪︎Refined Sugar: Stripped of nutrients, high glycemic index.
▪︎Honey/Jaggery: Contains trace minerals, but still spikes blood sugar levels.
▪︎Stevia/Monk Fruit: Low calorie, but still requires moderation to manage insulin response.

My takeaway: Let's stop rebranding sugar and start practicing moderation. "Natural" doesn't always mean "unlimited."

What’s the wildest "health claim" you’ve heard lately? Let’s discuss below. 👇

When Laughter Meets a Life-Changing Message ✨

Most of us tune in to for a dose of humor and to de-stress after a long day. But recently, the show gave us something much more valuable than a laugh—it gave us a lesson in humanity.

I was deeply moved by a recent episode where Aly Goni celebrated his birthday. The highlights weren't just the jokes, but a heartwarming video wish from the children of DESIRE Society, an NGO dedicated to supporting kids living with HIV/AIDS.

What followed was a masterclass in empathy. Aly used his platform to break a silence that has lasted far too long, reminding us that HIV does not spread through a touch, a hug, or a smile. It is refreshing to see a show that helps us release our stress also help us release our prejudices.

🧠 Know the Facts: Breaking the Stigma
Education is the only cure for fear. To truly support the community, we need to understand the science:

The Myth: You can contract HIV by sitting near, breathing the same air, or touching someone who is positive.
The Reality: HIV is not transmitted through saliva, sweat, tears, or skin-to-skin contact.

⚠️ How it Actually Spreads:

HIV is transmitted only through specific body fluids (like blood) under very specific conditions:
▪︎Unprotected physical contact.
▪︎Sharing needles or syringes.
▪︎From mother to child during birth or breastfeeding (though modern medicine now makes this preventable).
▪︎Contaminated blood transfusions (now
extremely rare due to screening).

Because it requires direct entry into the bloodstream, casual social interaction is 100% safe.

🤝 The "Do’s and Don’ts" of Being an Ally:
▪︎DO support organizations like Desire Society that provide nutrition, healthcare, and a future for these brave kids.
▪︎DO remember U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable). With proper treatment, people living with HIV live long, healthy lives and cannot pass the virus to others.
▪︎DO speak up when you hear misinformation. Your voice can stop a cycle of bullying.
▪︎DON’T treat HIV-positive individuals as a "risk" or isolate them from social circles.

Let’s follow Aly’s lead. Let’s enjoy the laughter the show brings us, but let's also carry this message of compassion forward. 🌍❤️

खामेमि सव्वे जीवा, सव्वे जीवा खमंतु मे|
मित्तिमे सव्व भुएस्‌ वैरं ममझं न केणई||
मिच्छामि दुक्कडम्|

I ask for all living beings, May all living beings grant me forgiveness. My friendship is with all living beings, My enmity is totally non-existent.
Micchami Dukkhadam – Please forgive me for all my bad deeds.

is last day of Paryushan festival, on which Jains forgive and seek forgiveness from all living beings.
We even do fast for a Day i.e. known as Chimchari

What happens when you Fast??
So Once you pass 24 hours of fasting, the body enters into a state called ketosis, where the body is reliant on burning the fat stores for energy. The fat cells are broken down for energy, where ketone bodies are created and released into the bloodstream. Thus, Ketone bodies act as fuel for the brain when glucose is scarce.

✨️Benefits of That Will Surely Surprise You:
Fasting Improves Insulin Sensitivity.
Fasting Speeds Up The Metabolism.
Fasting Promotes Longevity.
Fasting Improves Hunger.
Fasting Helps Weight Loss.
Fasting Improves Your Eating Patterns.
Fasting Improves Your Brain Function.
Fasting Improves Your Immune System.

Jains generally do there PARNA ( intake after fast) with Ukali & Almonds mostly, but have few more options such as gud ka pani, laung mishri Pani.

Drawback of Doing Fasting:
As such, fasting can increase stress levels and disrupt sleep. Dehydration, hunger or lack of sleep during a fasting period can also lead to headaches. Fasting can also cause heartburn; lack of food leads to a reduction in stomach acid, which digests food and destroys bacteria.

✨️It's a not a compulsory for everyone to do a fast, since many of us can't do it due to various reason & which is completely fine.

It takes courage, doesn't it? To step outside that comfortable zone, to face the world and its challenges head-on. Trust me, there have been moments! But every hurdle, every little victory, has made me stronger.
I often think about how much the world has changed in my lifetime. From the days of waiting by the landline to the instant connection of our smartphones and the vast world of the internet – it's been quite a journey! And yes, learning new technologies, navigating this digital landscape, it hasn't always been easy. But you know what they say, you've got to put your best foot forward.

How do you do it all?’ It’s a question I get often, balancing my clinic (BeHealthSavvy), boutique (StyleSaVvY). My secret? My mother. She's been my ultimate example, effortlessly juggling her own life with unwavering strength and grace. Her example is the fuel for my fire.
And yes, even with that inspiration, creativity needs a little nudge sometimes! Here's how I keep it flowing:
💛 My passion for nutrition naturally translates to my boutique's offerings. It's about feeling good inside and out.
💛 Constant learning in both health and fashion is my secret weapon.
💛 Collaborating with others ignites new ideas and energy.
💛 Engaging with my audience is my daily dose of inspiration.
💛 Even in a fast-paced day, I prioritize short breaks for mindfulness. A quick walk, a few deep breaths, or a moment of stretching can reset my mind and ignite creativity.
💛 Even a few minutes of quiet can recharge my creative battery.

As women, we wear many hats – mother, daughter, wife, sister, daughter-in-law, entrepreneur. But let's not forget the most important role: ourselves. We often put everyone else first. But let's celebrate ourselves every day, not just on Women's Day. Self-love isn't a luxury; it's a necessity. Let's embrace it, nurture it, and shine!
