“Amphan”-
The name which became a part of every citizen of Bengal now. The name which has become a horrific name to the people of South Bengal. Not horrible but horrific. A new horrible and shocking experience for Bengal. People here are shattered, some lost their lives and some lost their houses. People of Bengal are going through a very tough time. People here are without potable water, food and electricity from last 5 days. I m a Bengali and I still do believe as from the days of Independence Bengal has always been fighting and winning things back, we will fight together and will win things back again. Everything will be normalized after few days or may be after couple of months or years but the only thing which we will not get back are the people who lost thier lives in this cyclone.
Beyond everything a point that makes me super surprised is where are the so called social workers from all the parties, whether it’s ruling or opposition!!!!!!
As I my self is into a business of books, copies and stationeries at College Street, which is the largest book market in Asia, if not in the world is at huge loss. Half of my things are damaged, not only mine everyone in our market is at huge loss. Business men here are traumatised to see their losses. And more to my surprise, not a single media is covering our market and showing the reality to the people , yes they are busy covering the so called “netas” from all party sitting at their house giving observation without even visiting the place of occurrence.
Where is our Education Minister now?? Does he really exists in our state ?People in our state are more concerned over the liquor shops, standing in long queues and buying alcohol,at over prized. Government is busy making its revenue. The requirement of liquor is more essential than education.
I can see books written on Rabindranath, Bankim Chatterjee ,Vidyasagar and other great heroes are lying on the roads, wet, mud all over them with leaves scattered on them. And it looks like the teachings of these heroes have no values to the people. Yes we will again see their values on jayantis, where these so called intellectual people will be paying them tributes.
I know nobody is their for us , nobody came to us for just saying sob theek hoye jabe, but as I know the line” Jodi tor daak sune keu na ase tobe akela cholo re”. Amra puro boi para abar ghure darabo. We shall win and win we must.
