Jamdani sarees are the finest example of muslin from Bengal with it's origins,which predates the Mughal era, from Narayanganj district in Bangladesh.
Referred to as the "QUEEN OF SAREES" ,the traditional art of JAMDANI WEAVING has been declared as a Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. In 2016 Bangladesh received the GI status for Jamdani. A single Jamdani saree takes 3-4 days to take shape.

The two districts famous for their tant sarees are Santipur/Phulia in the Nadiadistrict and Dhonekhali and Begumpur in Hooghly district.
