A little piece of our weaving history. 🧵

An old Jamdani stole from one of our earlier productions—photographed right at the loom, in the middle of its making.

The delicate motifs you see emerging from the fine ground are created through the traditional Jamdani technique, where each motif is painstakingly inserted by hand, thread by thread.

Nothing about this process is hurried.
The loom moves, the shuttle passes, the threads are counted—and slowly, a motif takes shape.

This is what we have always loved about Jamdani:
the beauty is not only in the finished textile, but in the time, skill and patience woven into it.

Looking back at some of our old designs reminds us of the many looms, weavers and experiments that have been part of our journey. And perhaps, that is the most beautiful part of handmade textiles—they carry a little history with them. 🤍

Monsoon in Bengal

After a long, hectic day spent hopping between looms, discussing designs, solving weaving challenges, and negotiating wages with our artisans, there's nothing more comforting than a simple Bengali homemade meal.

Sitting on the traditional red oxide floor, on a hand-embroidered mat, with a brass plate full of rice, dal, vegetables, and love... somehow every bit of stress melts away. ❤️

Sometimes, happiness isn't found in luxury—it's found in simplicity, tradition, and food that feels like home. 🌾🍚

This is Bengal. This is comfort.

This was hand-drawn by me three years ago.

Every flower, every leaf, every placement was carefully sketched before being translated into a Jamdani weave. It took countless trials, corrections, and months of working with our weavers to bring this vision to life.

We made only a handful of these pieces for a few select clients and then chose to stop producing them to preserve their exclusivity.

Today, I see similar designs in the market, with some even claiming them as their own creations.

Strangely, I'm not upset. I'm proud.

Because true design doesn't just create a product—it inspires an industry. Those who know the journey behind an original understand the difference between creating and copying.

To everyone who has supported authentic craftsmanship over the years—thank you. ❤️

Original ideas leave a legacy. Copies only follow.

Some moments become more meaningful than the photographs themselves.

During one of our earliest shoots in a Bengal weaving village, an elderly grandmother quietly stood at her doorway, watching every frame with wonder. Beside her, her granddaughter couldn't take her eyes off the camera either. Two generations, equally curious. Two generations, connected by the same threads of khadi.

Behind every length of our handwoven cotton khadi is not just a loom, but a family, a village, and stories that deserve to be remembered.

This photograph continues to remind us why we do what we do. 🤍

I wonder why designers copy things...

But I feel it is the pure, unselfish delight that comes from seeing other people happy, successful, or experiencing good fortune—essentially, "joy in another's joy." ... And that's called Mudita 🪷
