Here's a bit of history about it:
Value:
It was worth 1/10th of a pound sterling, or 24 pence.

Period of Circulation:
The florin was issued from 1849 to 1967, with a final issue for collectors in 1970.

Demonetization:
Although decimalization occurred in 1971, the florin continued to circulate alongside the new ten pence piece (which had the same value and specifications) until it was finally demonetized in 1993.

Design:
The coin in the picture features King George VI on the obverse side and a crowned Tudor rose on the reverse.
