Titanic violin fetches record £900,000 price at an auction in Wiltshire!
A violin played to calm passengers as the Titanic sank in 1912 has today been auctioned for a world record sum of £900,000. The instrument was played by bandleader Wallace Hartley, who died along with 1,517 others as the ship went down during its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York.

The invention of the stethoscope by René Laënnec in 1816 contributed to of the revolution in medicine which occurred in Paris in the first decades of the nineteenth century. This gave rise to a new concept of disease, as a set of observable changes in specific organs of the human body, which could be confirmed byundertaking post mortems on patients who had died. The resulting model became the basis for modern diagnostic medicine. Many instruments were later devised to examine the body and identify disease. Laënnec's work was particularly concerned with tuberculosis, the disease from which he died in 1826.

Hand-modeled, cream-o range fabric with coarse-grained texture and multiple inclusions. Rounded body with broad mouth, short rim and conical bottom. The interior and exterior surfaces are"combed". Band of impressed short lines below rim. The inner surface is black/grey. Intact. Comes with custom made solid brass tripod stand. H. 5.1" (13 cm), D. 6" (15.2 cm).

Did you know that each winter one septillion (1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) of snow crystals drop from the sky and that it takes about a million little droplets to make one snowflake? As common as it might seem at first glance, snow is actually a very complex type of precipitation. If you wish to know which is the world’s largest snowflake and what is the record for the greatest snowfall. According to specialists,“snowflakes are agglomerates of many frozen ice crystals,most snowflakes are less than one-half inch across”. The water content of snowflakes is more variable than we think. An average snowflake is made up of 180 billion molecules of water, but the snow-water ratio depends on various factors such as temperature, crystal structure, wind speed etc.
Even if there aren’t any images of the biggest snowflake ever recorded, the Guinness Book of World Records states that a giant snowflake was found at Fort Keogh, Montana on January 28, 1887. It was 15 inches wide and 8 inches thick.

Etorphine is 5000 times stronger than he**in, and can overdose a human simply through skin contact.
He**in has caused untold levels of despair, suffering and bad PSAs. So you might be surprised to learn that scientists sat down and developed a drug 5000 times as strong.
Etorphine is a drug that works in the same way as he**in and morphine, but never really took off on the streets because it’s too potent to do anything besides instantly kill humans.
How potent? Its only use is to sedate large animals, and 1/100th of a gram can knock out a 3000 kg (6614 lbs) elephant . Contact with skin can be enough to cause an overdose in humans, so whenever the drug is used an assistant with an antidote has to be ready to Pulp fiction you in case of an accidental contact.
