There are few people whose eye you can understand simply by walking into their studio.
amit_hansraj's is filled with the kind of things you could spend hours looking at: archive textiles, old objects, beautiful fragments, references gathered over years. It feels like stepping inside a very well-stocked imagination.
What makes spending time with Amit even better is that, beneath that extraordinary eye, he is remarkably focused and grounded, and a genuinely wonderful conversationalist. He has a way of talking about design that makes you look at clothes, and the world around them, a little differently.
We’ve known Amit and his work for some time now, and incaindia is a relationship we’ve been very happy to grow at Bombaim.
We sat down with him ahead of the pop-up for a conversation about design, instinct, making things well, and the ideas that stay with you.
INCA arrives at Bombaim, Calcutta and Bombaim, Kala Ghoda on 21st August.
