I quit sailing.
But I am not a quitter.
I had other priorities — and a bigger purpose to prepare for.
For more than six months, I worked relentlessly on building something meaningful.
When I started the ASM Oral Prep Course, I wasn’t trying to compete with anyone.
I was trying to solve a problem every candidate quietly struggled with while preparing for the MMD oral exams in India.
Yes, everyone had notes.
More than 20 different authors.
Printed, photocopied, hand‑written, passed around.
But the honest reality was:
❌ They weren’t structured
❌ They weren’t researched
❌ They were outdated and unreliable
❌ And they definitely weren’t designed for oral exam performance
So I built what didn’t exist.
✅ I brought structure.
✅ I brought research and clarity.
✅ I brought trust and legitimacy.
And I built it all from scratch:
🌐 Designed my own website
🧩 Created a complete course framework
📚 Researched the latest questions
🧭 Structured every answer from authoritative sources, exactly the way they should be delivered in an oral exam
💻 Invested heavily in a secure e‑learning app (web + mobile) so learning remained accessible ashore or onboard
Then the real magic began.
✅ Questions were asked.
✅ Discussions grew.
✅ People started thinking deeper.
And this journey of teaching became a journey of learning, adding immensely to my own knowledge.
Many who have already passed still choose to stay.
Not because they need to.
But because the learning never stops.
And that applies to me as well.
I learned every day at every rank and on every ship I sailed on.
And I continue to learn every day, with every batch, as this new journey unfolds.
This is just the beginning, and I’m grateful to everyone who has been part of this voyage so far.
