The Kyatapira Bench from our Shibui Collection has been featured in Livingetc India’s August 2026 issue, in their edit of benches for bedrooms, hallways and every corner in between.

Designed around the rhythm of the caterpillar, Kyatapira brings together a wooden grid base and a series of soft cylindrical cushions — a meeting of Japanese-inspired simplicity, natural materials and sculptural form.

A study in curves, proportion and craft.

The reclaimed teakwood frame flows continuously from the legs into the arms and back, softened by hand-shaped edges. A gently curved floating seat and handwoven cane back bring lightness to the form.

From an idea to an object.

The Kyatapira Bench began with a simple exploration of rhythm — repeated cylindrical forms held within a solid teak structure.

What followed was a process of drawing, detailing and refining each element until the structure and upholstery came together as one.

A bench designed to be as much about form and craftsmanship as it is about sitting.
