When someone walks into your space for the first time, what do you want them to remember?

People may not remember the exact facade colour, the lighting details, or the materials you used.

But they almost always remember how a space made them feel before they even stepped inside.

Because a well-designed entrance doesn’t just look good, it creates an experience from the very first step.

The best spaces aren’t only seen. They’re felt.

Maybe the entrance was never just about reaching the door. Maybe it was always about creating the feeling before it.

The Flow of Time
This piece is a masterclass in Zen Paradox: the intersection of the eternal and the ephemeral. It is not merely furniture; it is a frozen moment of transformation.
The intent of Toki-no-Nagare is to challenge the viewer’s perception of permanence. In Japanese aesthetics, the concept of Mono no Aware celebrates the bittersweet beauty of transience.
By using Black Basalt-a volcanic stone synonymous with the earth’s ancient, cooling crust-the bench establishes a sense of absolute stillness and immortality. However, the “spilling” mosaic disrupts this gravity. It exists to show that even the most stoic foundations carry a fluid, vibrant history within them. It represents the “leakage” of the soul -the idea that our rigid exteriors eventually give way to the richness of our experiences and the inevitable flow of time.
Toki-no-Nagare stands as a silent witness to the truth that nothing-not even stone-stays still forever.

It was a pleasure hosting renowned architect Minnie Bhatt at The Stone Casa booth during iDAC 2026.

From textured stone surfaces to handcrafted terrazzo details, it was inspiring to see her thoughtfully explore every material, finish, and design element across the space. Her appreciation for craftsmanship, textures, and material innovation truly resonated with the vision behind our collection.

Moments like these remind us why we continue pushing the boundaries of stone, terrazzo, and surface design. ✨
