The 1951 Bentley Mark VI Park Ward Drophead Coupé, owned by Rajiv Kehr of Gurgaon, has claimed 3rd place at the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

This Bentley was commissioned by Maharaja Sir Kameshwar Singh of Darbhanga, renowned for a motor car collection that numbered over 100 automobiles, it features a radio, oil-bath air cleaner, and Continental touring springs, with Park Ward's signature sweeping rear wings defining its coachwork. The bespoke interior even carries picnic tables bearing the Maharaja's crest, with reversible chess and backgammon boards.

The 1931 Pierce-Arrow 42B Seven-Passenger Tourer, owned by Nishant Dossa of Mumbai, claimed 3rd place in the Automobiles of Royal India class - and was honoured with the prestigious Ansel Adams Award - at the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

This car carries history few can match. At the 1931 New Delhi Princes' Convention - where royal representatives gathered to weigh India's federated future -Pierce-Arrow showcased five Model 42B tourers alongside a jeweled V12. All five sold. Of the three that survive today, this is the one bought by the Maharaja of Jhabua, used for ceremonies and long-distance royal travel.

Decades later, it proved its mettle again — completing the Louis Vuitton Vintage Equator Run from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. Not a trailer queen. A car that has always been driven, always been alive.

Now it stands recognized on the world's most prestigious lawn — not just for what it once was, but for what it still is.

The 1934 Packard 1101 Eight Seven-Passenger Tourer, owned by Rajiv Kehr of Gurgaon, has claimed 2nd place at the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

One of six Seven-Passenger Touring cars imported by the Packard Dealer in Mumbai, Dadajee Dhackjee, in 1934, this particular car (chassis 182556) was delivered new to the Rajah of Nawalgarh in Rajasthan, where it remained for over three decades. To compete in an Indian market dominated by Rolls-Royce and Bentley, this Packard was equipped with a chrome bonnet, a folding windscreen, special export disc wheels, and twin side-mounted spares — a rare and appealing combination of bespoke features on a 1101 chassis.

The 1929 Mercedes-Benz 630K Sports Tourer, owned by Hemant Kumar Ruia of Mumbai, has claimed 1st place at the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

This car (chassis 35301) was commissioned by the Maharaja of Tikari, Gopal Saran Narain Singh, through dealers in Calcutta, and built in Right Hand Drive configuration — fitted with Mercedes-Benz's switchable supercharger, the "Kompressor." The Maharaja was no ordinary owner: a keen and accomplished early motorist, he was one of the first Indians to race in Europe and England, holding his own against some of the best drivers of his day. He likely made very good use of that compressor.

From a Calcutta showroom to the 18th fairway — this Mercedes-Benz has now claimed its place among the finest automobiles on earth.
