A Question for Reviewers
A reviewer holds power over a book, and most times they do not realize that. My question is - how fair is it for a reviewer to give a 1 or 2 star rating for an extremely well-written book if:-
1. The book is not of a genre they appreciate.
2. The character's actions are not right according to them?
For example: If I don't read romance, but pick up The Fault in Our Stars and give it a 1-star rating just because I don't like the genre, is it justified? Or is it justified if I rate Lo**ta 1-star just because I cannot understand how a septuagenarian call fall in love with a teenager, regardless of how beautifully the author has justified it?
What do you think? And how fair is it to the author?

Here's a short ditty for FB lovers like me!

THE LAMENT OF THE FACEBOOK POST

I don’t want to be a Facebook post
Whose livable life at the most
Is a mere day or two.

I cannot be where anyone can host
An opinion or a rant or a boast
Without really having a clue.

Even if I’m someone’s wedding toast
Or go as viral as the AIB Roast
There’ll be an end to me too.

My words will only skim the coast
And hide true feelings innermost
I don’t want to be untrue.

Will the model who pouts the most
Speak of the diabolical ghost
Of her several bills overdue?

Or he who is the foremost
In making me a political signpost
Benefit the real world too?

Or he who makes a witty riposte
Even is funny, well almost,
Really help someone who’s blue?

So this is my decision utmost
That I won’t be a Facebook post
And find better things to do.

And I’ll tell this to all my dearmost
Through another Facebook post
For – what else can I do?
