This morning, something truly special landed at Vriksha , a Worsleya procera, the legendary “Empress of Brazil.”

This particular plant carries a story: the seed was collected back in 1950 from Robert Blossfeld at Kew , and has been in the care of a dear friend’s family ever since. To be trusted with a piece of that lineage is not something we take lightly.

Native to the cliffs of Brazil’s Serra dos Órgãos, the Worsleya is one of the rarest bulbs in cultivation , slow, mysterious, and famously reluctant to flower. It could be years before we see those lilac-blue blooms unfurl.
Some things are worth the wait.

NFS this one’s not for sale. Just for sharing, and for the quiet thrill of growing something with 70+ years of history behind it.

No perfect soil, no ideal conditions …just quiet, stubborn growth.

Last year we brought in the big Jaboticaba trees and your DMs did not let us rest 😄 “Chotta size hoga kya?” “Kuch pocket-friendly bhi?” — heard you loud and clear.

We hate saying no more than you hate hearing it. So we went back, sourced smaller Jaboticaba trees at prices that won’t make you flinch

Even after a lifetime around plants, the best lessons still come from wandering. On my day off you’ll find me in a garden somewhere, watching how others pair textures, space their beds, and let a corner go a little wild. Every garden teaches something new.
