"It is one among the best episodes of life's journey,that kind of innocence and trustworthy.'Friend'­ is a word which includes loving ,sharing,helping.A friend is always good and their is no specification as of good friend and a bad friend.If friends remain bad ,they are named by another name which is also a 7 letter word (enemies) as of "friends".A friend is a one who supports or cherishes at all time inspite of knowing our strength,weekness, po­sitive and negative attitude.When friends join together ,that place would become paradise for each around.They feel happy,share their feelings,have fun and loads more. Every friend is unique .Friends play the predominant role during the early part of life i.e, before one starts earning in life. A friend can care,help,share as of any relationship on earth.A friend can be a mother,father,sister­ and brother indeed.All these people put together frames a "friend".Thus they make our life bloom out."

From The Hindu!!

With the help of a guitar and the will to make a difference, “The Orange Leaf – Chennai”, a student initiative that works for the “betterment of society and upliftment of the under-privileged”, in collaboration with “YOU”, an organisation that sings for social causes; brought smiles to the faces of the 55 inmates of “Monegar and Rajah of Venkatagiri Choultries, Home for Aged Destitutes”. Among the songs rendered were “MGR” hits and A.R. Rahman's compositions.

Located at M.C. Road in Parry’s Corner, the 32 women and 23 men living in the old-age home were all ears as Prem John and Divya Sathiamurthy from “YOU” gave a long perfromance.

"I do this in hope that my parents living in Nagercoil will receive the blessings of Almighty because I can’t be there with them,” says Prem when asked on the motivation to perform.

Under the coordination of the 11 volunteers from “The Orange Leaf”, mangoes, snacks and sweets were distributed to each of the inmates along with donations of clothes, while spending quality time talking to them. “This is our first time visiting an old age home,” says Shruthi Prakash, vice president, “And I hope more people will step forward for social service because it’s a learning experience.”
