Rising Lines was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, marking the start of a show that brings together evolving artistic practices from across the country.

This mega exhibit is a carefully curated group show, with the artistic talent of over 50 pan-Indian artists on display.

About the artist:
Ashif Hossain hails from Kolkata and his paintings predominately dwell on life. Indian culture, its vibrant colours and the idea of secularism inspire the artist and the same is reflected in his artworks.

Contrasting the modern with the past, inspiration is picked up from the everyday life around us – the infrastructure, the people and the busy chaotic lives of the cities. His works depict his thoughts on life and its past. His current muse is the Eternal City of Benares – one of the holiest cities in India, where pilgrims flock to the place to take a dip in the holy Ganges River, which is believed to absolve one from all sins.

The show is a celebration of a wide range of emotions, created by the best of artistic talent from across the country and we bring to you offerings that would make a great addition to a new or existing collection.

About the artist:
Born in 1981 in a small village in the Solapur district of Maharashtra, Sachin Sagare's art takes you on a journey through the multifaceted world inhabited by women.
Growing up in a rural setting, Sachin was inspired by the strong, hardworking women that he saw all around him, and his art is a tribute to the women from his village.
His works are simple, honest renditions of their myriad expressions and unexpressed voices.

He often portrays women holding flowers in his artworks - a reflection of the romanticised relationship between women and flowers. Sometimes they are seen with diyas in their hands, or next to the river, spending time with each other. The radiant women in Sachin's artworks look enchanting with their subtle grace and beauty, painted in hues like red, yellow, orange, green, purple, blue and grey.

This mega exhibit is a carefully curated group show, with the artistic talent of over 50 pan-Indian artists on display.

About the artist:
Pankaj Bawdekar series of paintings are inspired by the magnificence of Kerala, the land of great natural beauty and rich culture,magical festival. Through his works, his sense of aesthetics and expression comes across as direct and impactful at first glance, capturing the viewer’s attention, and a closer look reveals the nuances of exquisite brush strokes, hues and tones, which ushers us into a brilliantly created atmosphere of motifs.

“I find the frenetically pulsating figures in such mammoth carnivals, to be the glory of those events and hence they have naturally come to be the foreground subject of my paintings”, says Pankaj.

About the artist:
Monica Ghule’s paintings take you back in time of childhood memories and early relationships. Her signature style is an intricately designed deep coloured background, which almost has a dreamy and ethereal quality to it. In contrast her subjects in the foreground are brightly coloured, where you can see characters expressing different emotions.

“I paint my childhood memories. Though I miss out the kinship of sisterhood. In the absence of that relationship, I imagine how it would be to have a sister. In my earlier days, my paintings were around motherhood and a relationship between siblings. After I become a mother, I started integrating my relationship with my child through the paintings”, says the artist.

About the artist:
Shubhra Das articulates her thoughts on canvas through mixed media, oil and acrylic paints. Her love for nature and her thinking that ‘nature is within us and we are nature’ – is depicted in almost all her paintings. She paints on huge canvasses to signify the magnitude of her subject.

Shubhra’s paintings are not complex yet, the elements on the paintings mix with each other giving movement and depth to a relatively simple theme. She can be called a figurative as well as an abstract artist as she combines both these elements beautifully.
