It comes in many different varieties and is imported from the Arabic world. Ancient Egypt, Arabia, and other countries all had a long history of employing bakhoor. While the practice of burning bakhoor today is mainly confined to Saudi Arabia, the scent and tradition of this fragrant smudge are still found in other Arab countries.
