Youth The story follows Shiva (Vijay), a vibrant and optimistic young man who relocates to Chennai to find work and starts living with his hilarious cousin (Vivek). His life takes a beautiful turn when he falls in love at first sight with Sandhya (Shaheen Khan). However, Shiva's romantic dreams are shattered when he discovers that Sandhya is already engaged to someone else. What follows is an entertaining mix of iconic comedy, deep friendship, and emotional conflicts as Shiva navigates his unrequited love while trying to support her happiness without crossing boundaries. Directed by Vincent Selva, Youth (2002) features a memorable performance by Thalapathy Vijay and Shaheen Khan, alongside Vivek, Yugendran, and Sindhu Menon. With evergreen chartbuster music by Mani Sharma, the film delivers the perfect blend of romance and laugh-out-loud comedy tracks that defined a generation. The film was released theatrically
on July 19, 2002.
More than just a romantic comedy, Youth explores the innocence of first love, the value of true friendship, and the maturity needed to handle heartbreak. Behind all the fun and hit songs is a profound idea: true love isn't about forcefully winning someone over-it's about wishing them the best, even if they aren't yours. Sometimes the bravest thing a lover can do is to smile and step back for the sake of the other
person's happiness.
