Subject: Request for Strict Action against Amazon , Flipkart and other Foreign E-Commerce Entities for Destroying Small Kirana/Retail Industry

Dear Sir,

1. It is with deep pain and anguish that we are writing this letter to you with a request to initiate strict action against Amazon , Flipkart and other foreign e-commerce entities that have been destroying traditional retail industry and small traders for their self-serving gains.

2. The small Kirana retailers are suffering due to anti-competitive and anti-Kirana policies of these foreign e-commerce entities even during COVID-19 pandemic that has ravaged the retail sector and has severely impacted our lives, livelihoods and the welfare of our families.

3. The trading community had placed their trust with you and extended our overreaching support to you because you have always had a “Nation-First” approach,

4. Amazon and Flipkart have been earning unending revenue even during the COVID-19 pandemic while we are fighting for the survival of our businesses and families.

5. Sir, you said ‘Jaan aur Jahaan’, but we are losing both our Jaan and our Jahaan, with increasing unemployment in our community,

6. We strictly followed COVID-19 Lockdown Guidelines for the health and safety of our fellow Indians at the cost of losing our lives and livelihoods. While we were struggling to add food to the table of every citizen at the cost of our lives, Amazon, Flipkart and etc have been making huge gains in market share and revenue by indulging in black-marketing of essential medical supplies and supplying non-essential items.

7. It is our understanding that these foreign entities are prohibited from engaging in inventory-based model of e-commerce But, Amazon , Flipkart and etc have been undertaking inventory-based retail and no action has been taken against them, It seems like the law is not being equally applied to large foreign entities by various Government Departments and investigating agencies.

8. It is our sincere request and prayer to you to initiate strict action against Amazon , Flipkart and etc before they do irreplaceable damage to the small merchants/Kirana and Indian retail industry, We are fighting for our lives and livelihoods everyday against these foreign e-commerce entities and will not be able to survive without your support PM sir.

Dear Respected Honourable PM & CM of Karnataka

You have declared a complete Lockdown closure from 24th April to 24th May or still probably would be increased further as well and you are requesting all to keep the Offices, Shops & other Small or Big Business to be closed.
Also you are urging the Businessmen to show sympathy towards the needful employees and pay them.

We need to understand what are you thinking about the BUSINESS OWNERS?
Do they have Money Plant showering Money?!!
Because the closure has been announced and the businesses are on a total standstill, how will the small and middleclass Businessman survive whether?
SALARIES - ON
ELECTRICITY BILL - ON
RENT - ON
TAXATION DEADLINES - ON
BANK INTEREST - ON
EMI's - ON
GST Penalties - ON.

There is no relief for us taking all tensions. We don’t mind sitting home till whichever Lockdown dates & if these expenses are cut off.
The Government is not ready to compromise on any front & just expecting the business houses to bear the expenses with their shut businesses.

As we all know last year same time due to Lockdown many of the businesses have suffered huge losses and slowly only some of them picked up.
All businessmen have bank loans for their business or any other loans and later on bankers take action for not paying EMI on time.
Many such difficulty stories are faced by common businessmen alone. It is not easy to run any business in competition era.
Is this really fair?

Hope the Govt understands each and every problems of small and middle businessmen of India!!

WE NEED A WAIVER FOR THE ABOVE FOR ATLEAST 4 MONTHS,
THIS IS HARD TOUGH TIME FOR US BUSINESSMEN TOO AGAIN THIS YEAR.!!
