Heartfelt Gratitude 🙏
I sincerely thank the Telangana Government for honouring my natural-Dyed Telia Rumal Double Ikat Cotton Saree with the Konda Laxman Bapuji State Award – 2025.

This recognition is not just mine, but a tribute to the traditional weaving heritage of Telangana and to the decades of dedication my father, Sri Chalamalla Krishna, has given to this craft.

Special thanks to the Handlooms & Textiles Department, the Honourable Minister for Handlooms, and the Handloom Commissioner for encouraging and uplifting our weaving community.

Telia Rumal weaving is our pride, and I will continue to preserve and promote this timeless art for future generations.

My Indigo Journey – A Weaver’s Story

For the past few months, I’ve been working silently, trying again and again to prepare a perfect Indigo vat. Many times, the colour didn’t come out, the vat didn’t reduce well, and I failed. But I never gave up. Each failure taught me something deeper about the nature of Indigo—how it breathes, how it reacts, how it lives.

Today, something changed.
The vat is ready. Alive. Perfect.
I dipped the yarn, and that magical transformation happened—the green turned blue before my eyes. That moment… it felt like the Indigo finally accepted me.

Now, I’m ready to take this forward into my Teliarumal and Ikat sarees. This is not just a colour—this is tradition, nature, and time blending into one thread. My journey with Indigo is only beginning, but I feel I’m walking the right path now.

To everyone supporting natural dye and handloom—weavers like me truly thank you.
