NSS state level coordinator
visited our "Auxilium organic Hub"
and appreciated the effort of "Makai nada sandai"
in providing healthy food to students at nominal cost.

Auxilium Organic Hub is dedicated to providing healthy and organic food to students, ensuring that parents feel confident about their children consuming safe and nutritious snacks. The snack items are prepared by women from self-help groups and coordinated by Mrs. Kavitha, who manages their sale at the Organic Hub.
This initiative has helped improve the health of girl students by reducing health-related issues and promoting better eating habits. Additionally, it has revived traditional, wholesome foods and fostered awareness among parents about organic and healthy diets.
The Auxilium Organic Hub is an innovative initiative introduced by NSS unit of Auxilium College( Autonomous), Vellore with the support of Makkal Nala Santhai, through the Women Agripreneur Network (WAN).

⚡Makkal Nala Sandhai has established an Organic Hub at Auxilium College ( Autonomous), Vellore, for Girls with the aim of promoting healthy eating and nurturing a strong, healthy generation.
⚡The hub provides students with nutritious organic food and educates parents about the benefits of chemical-free, farm-grown produce.
⚡The hub is efficiently managed through the Women Agripreneur Network (WAN), a group of 25 dedicated women entrepreneurs.
⚡ The organic products available in the hub are collected directly from the agripreneurs who are active members of WAN, ensuring authenticity, freshness, and community support.
⚡To encourage traditional and healthy food culture, WAN also organized the “Giramathu Kaimanam” competition among rural women.
⚡The event celebrated their traditional recipes and motivated them to continue their healthy eating habits while gaining confidence and recognition for their culinary skills.Through these initiatives, Makkal Nala Sandhai, in collaboration with WAN, continues to strengthen rural women, promote organic living, and inspire a health-conscious community.
Makkal Nala Sandhai has made significant strides in promoting organic farming, healthy eating, and women’s empowerment in Vellore and surrounding rural communities.
The Organic Hub inittiated by NSS Unit of Auxilium College ( Autonomous)Vellore
provides nutritious organic food for students and educates parents on the benefits of chemical-free, farm-grown produce.
This hub is managed through the Women Agripreneur Network (WAN), consisting of 25 committed women entrepreneurs who supply authentic, fresh organic products.
In addition to daily operations, Makkal Nala Sandhai and WAN organize events such as the “Giramathu Kaimanam” competition to celebrate traditional food culture and the Kiraya Greens Festival, where 150 types of greens often mistaken as weeds are showcased to raise awareness about their health benefits. These initiatives promote sustainable farming, preserve indigenous knowledge, and support the economic empowerment of rural women.
Their efforts have also extended to running ‘Nam Sandhai’ (Our Market) in Vellore, a weekly organic market that connects farmers with consumers, offering a variety of organic products ranging from vegetables, traditional grains, and herbal items to natural dietary supplements.
This market not only ensures fair prices for farmers but also encourages eco-friendly practices, such as plastic-free shopping, and continues to attract consumers from cities like Chennai and Bengaluru
